Wedding Dress Jitters?

teacup, 17 July, 2012 at 13:40 Posted on Planning 0 1

Has anyone else had second thoughts about their dress? Mine is all paid for, but I have had doubts about it since it arrived in the shop. I have ordered another one online (by phase eight), and am hoping to sell my old one. I can't afford it really, but I don't want to feel rubbish in my dress... Anyone else tried their dress once it arrived and didn't feel excited and happy with it? ☹️

I think it's normal to have worries. Have you had your first fitting yet? Maybe you'll change your mind?

I bought an ex sample dress last year and took it to a bridal shop on Saturday for my first fitting. In between buying it and Saturday I have had major worries as I lost quite a bit of weight. I tried it Saturday and it was 2 sizes too big but the lovely lady in the shop pinned it to me so I could see how it would look altered and I love it all over again ?.

Thank you. Yes I had my fitting yesterday and just didn't feel very special in it. I didn't say anything at the time but phoned the shop afterwards to ask them to hold off with the alterations until I have had a proper think as to whether I would like to keep it or sell it. I'm going to try on this dress I have ordered and see if it's much better, if it's not right still then I will decide whether to stick with my original dress or keep looking for an alternative. It's so stressful, I wish I didn't rush into buying my dress!
