Just had a bit of a result on a wedding dress!
Phoned the shop (the Silk Box in Cheshunt) today to ask if I could try on one that I liked a couple of weeks ago again, but they'd sold it ☹️
Went in to the shop, tried on a couple of other dresses which were Ok but then the lady suggested I try a different sale one on which I'd dismissed because it was champagne in colour, which I didn't think would go with my skin (I'm a redhead so pale/pink with freckles).
How wrong I was, it looked amazing,? and the shape was perfect for my rather odd bodyshape (large square torso, no waist), so I even looked Ok wearing it when it was 3 sizes smaller than I usually wear (lace up back forgives a lot).
Even better it was reduced to £300 from £660 (the other dress I'd liked was £325 at full price) the lady said if I paid cash she'd include the alternations and cleaning in the price, she didn't seem to bothered that it was way smaller than I usually wear and said it just needed taking out a bit at the hips and the lace up would do the rest. Sent a photo to my friend who's going to be chief bridesmaid and she loved it.
So I'll hopefully get to go to my wedding wearing a dress a smaller size than I've ever worn in my life (even if it's cheating.....LOL) and at a very good price RESULT!!!!!
Going back tomorrow to pay cash!

Have to say my experience with "the silk box" in Cheshunt has been very good, I was so scared that these places would have haughty staff that would look down their noses but totally the opposite. Laura the lady I spoke to today ended up chatting about reception disco's and zumba lessons - very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended so far.
