Wedding dress wobbles

Paranoid_Pixie_:), 1 April, 2014 at 04:21 Posted on Planning 0 13

I went for my dress fitting yesterday and I have been worrying about it ever since. My dress, I think is stunning, it's still the best dress and I think it's beautiful and I smile everytime I wear it but I am not sure it's the 'right' dress! When I tried it on strangers in the shop told me I had to buy because I looked so beautiful and I was totally overwhelmed and it was a bargain as well, but I think everyone at the wedding is going to think its a bit 'too much'' we are having a small outdoor ceremony, it's my second wedding and I am in my 30's! Perhaps I should be wearing something less 'princessy'? It didn't help that at the dress fitting they insisted I had to have a hoop (I went for just a small fishtail in the end) which has made it even bigger.

The dress is a Benjamin Roberts 2058.

I am thinking maybe I should be wearing something more like this?

OH says it's a confidence issue and if I feel beautiful that's the most important thing, my daughter (who was with me) keeps reminding me how even strangers insisted I buy it, but I can't stop thinking about all my wobbles!

What do you think? Do you think I should call tomorrow and ask them to hold fire on the alterations? And try more dresses on? Even it's just to prove that this is the dress?

From your teeny tiny picture I think you look gorgeous! 2nd wedding or not you should wear what you want. When my dad got married a second time people made comments about the size of the wedding, but he was marrying a totally different person and starting a new life together, why should it be any less special?

Your dress and you are stunning, the smile on your face says it all. I'm 47 and second time around and wondered whether I should wear a long dress at all. I didn't wear one the first time around and I don't plan on doing this again so long, lacy and chapel train it is!

You look gorgeous and wobbles are normal.

You should wear whatever you want to, regardless if its your 1st or 21st wedding. Maybe you didn't get the dress of their dreams 1st time round, so why not do it now?

Other than the style, I don't see what the difference is with the 2nd dress? Its still got a long train & very weddingy. Why do you think the 2nd dress is some suitable?

Your dress is lovely & you should feel like a princess for the day, no matter what age!

I totally understand where you are coming from. I'm getting married for the 3rd time and thought it would have to be a very quite really just a legal formality type of affair with a nice outfit, but I never thought I would wear a wedding gown. But I was encouraged to try one on and from that moment on I was sold, plus we'd also decided we did want a nice wedding, not just a marriage ceremony and it is not out of the ordinary nowadays. Any wedding is, or should be special and you should feel special too.

The smile on your face says it all. It is clearly the dress so stop wobbling and enjoy Smiley smile

    Hello all

Thank you so so much. I am worrying and you are all right wobbles are normal and the other dress looks no more simple than the one I have bought.

Everyone was assuming we would have a quieter affair than we are having and I think that is what is making me edgy.

    Thanks again xx

Just wanted to echo the above thoughts, the dress is beautiful, gives you a great figure, and your beaming in it! I wouldnt have said it looks to blingy or princessy/OTT at all (and even if it was as long as you felt gorgeous it wouldnt really matter) Enjoy wearing it and feeling beautiful!!
