I can't help you with ones in your area, but I have been to a lot of wedding fairs, I found them really helpful, especially in the early stages of planning. There are so many different types of suppliers there from caterers and cake makers to wedding cars to rings to stationery, it's really good to help you decide the kinds of thing you like /dislike

Wedding fairs or fayres! are good especially to get ideas and meet the suppliers face to face. This can be important for something like photographers where it is really good to get on wel personality wise.

The small hotel ones are sometimes a waste of time - the best ones are those that advertise plenty.

Don't know any in Sussex - sorry!

I found my photographer through one so it was pretty handy for me. Like someone said, theyre also useful for finding out your likes and in my case, mainly dislikes! dont know of any near you, but there seem to be loads in london-is is called national wedding fair or something?

I didnt book anything at a wedding fair. I pretty much found them all to be pants.

I went to them in the early stages of planning which was 2 years before the wedding and none of the suppliers were interested. I booked most things from web research and Hitched.

The only one I know of at the moment in Sussex is at the Goodwood Park Hotel on Sunday 28th September if that's any help!

I dont think there are many over the summer to be honest, the people doing the fairs tend to be too busy

I know K2 in Crawley have a few fairs on a year, and a few others in the area (I went to a few fairs when I was doing my original planning and found them a combination of helpful and useless - I booked my hairdresser and cake maker through a fair)

Which bit of sussex are you in??

I use 'the wedding guide' all the time to find wedding fairs in my area (essex). I visit all the wedding fairs i can, mainly to see colour combinations, tables, balloons, centre pieces ect all set up. The more you get sorted the quicker it is to go round them.

the last fair i went to i needed to book a videographer. i knew the price i wouldn't go above and what i wanted for that price. i found one and got £100 off if i booked there and then (result, no problem). I personally found the more fairs i went to the better ideas on price I got. plus i was gonna get my centre pieces done by someone but found seeing them at the fairs i could do them myself, more money saved.

    hope this works.

Yup though Im a bit further north in E Grinstead, used to work in Brighton though, I think there is normally one at the Grand in about october and I think one at the pavillion too, they advertise in the local papers

Shout out for Mildred Hubble - she is in brighton and got married a few weeks ago so should know where the fairs are...
