Hope you dont mind me hijacking this thread also !

We're undecided of what to do at the moment, what do people think about having a caricature artist, he would go round and draw each couple or family, and that would be their 'favour' as such.

    Good idea or not !?!

    Cheers !

We didn't have favours per se (went for more booze instead) but we made a bottle of homemade limoncello for each table as well as some chocolate biscuits to be given out as our guests were leaving, midnight feast stylee.

What are your strengths? Baking, sewing, drawing etc?

LOVE this. Gorgeous idea - I like the idea of giving a gift where none is expected

I'm collecting odd jars and indend making jam for the ladies and chutney for the men, covering the lids with pretty material and attaching a luggage label with peoples names on so they serve as place markers too

Lots of ladies getting to their favours, have noticed a few posts like this popping up recently.

We are having Cancer Research charity pins and printing a small card to attach them to dedicating the donation to my granny and OHs grandad who both died of cancer and are painfully missed. In my mind it means if folk wander off and forget them the money isn't wasted! x

Were painting wooden hearts red and then the guests name on in white and attaching them by ribbon to a cellophane bag with the haribo heart sweets in (white choc buttons for the children).

I'm really looking forward to doing them and I think it is a nice personalised touch to have done them ourselves! I think making them is currently the most exciting part for me!

    xx

I am doing this, but whitewashing mine. Then going to write on in silver I think. We are also handing out fans prior to the ceremony, as hopefully it'll be pretty warm!

We have decided to do this aswell!

We thought long and hard about what favors we could make and finally decided on giving to charity instead.

We are doing half cancer research pin badges and half british heart foundation.

Attached to a tent card like a bigger placecard with a message saying something like in lieu of a traditional favor etc etc....

Like you we felt that if they did get left behind then the charities have still had the donation.

Although, alot of people in my family have survived various types of cancer and my grandad survived a heart attack but unfortunatley OH dad didn't so that is why we chose BHF aswell.

So I don't think they'll get left behind as they are two charities close to everyones hearts ❤️

Oh Im going to do either chutneys and jams or am going to do organza bags with handmade christmas soaps and a miniture bottle in with a little wooden heart attached to the bag.

My first wedding I did CDs we burned ourselves with favourite songs on and designed the cover, went down a storm Smiley winking x
