Wedding favours

Shnarfy1, 25 May, 2010 at 19:00 Posted on Planning 0 23

Hey everyone,

I'm really stuck on ideas for wedding favours, I really want to stay away from the traditional sugared almonds! I was going to do some homebaking, put whatever it was in clear cellophane bags and tie a nice ribbon around but there are so many fusspots attending that I would be making about 5 variations. I want to stick with something pretty inexpensive or home-made. Let me know what you are having for your favours and any ideas would be very gratefully received.

me and the OH thought long and hard about ours and i think we have decided on these -

Its 3 packets of love hearts tied with ribbon the colour of our tartan! There will be a wee note on there as well with the date and "thank-you for joining us on our special day, from Deborah and Gareth" or something like that!

For a little scottish flavour to my wedding I'm having either Tablet or edinburgh rock inorganza tied with tartan ribbon or plain blue ribbon. My mum has demanded to be in charge of these so god knows what they'll end up like x

This is my idea, not sure if you'll like it but i'm thinking it is going to work out pretty cheap.

Buy some cellophane sweet bags like these

We're having little flower pots wrapped in organza with the guests names written in seeded paper as their place names

We are having these bags for which were about £3 for 100 from ebay and these stickers which were £8 for 80. Then we are going to fill them with penny mix up sweets from a wholesaler.

We're having organza bags (from Ebay) with 80s sweets (flying saucers, etc)

I also like the idea of bags of seeds, spice, that sort of thing!

I got some really nice little chests from kellys wedding world i think i paid about 20.00 for 80 and im just going to fill them up with chocolates, (m & S belgian chocs are on special at mo) they also do little sticky bows (ive got ivory ones) and things see piccys. I have also bought some of the table trivia (ebay much cheaper than any where else) and bought ivory boxes the same pattern as the chest which im going to re box them in and tie with ivory organza ribbon (I know im pathetic just liek them to match)

I'm starting to think either homemade gingerbread hearts with white icing in a sort of frill design in cellophane bags with ivory ribbon or homemade truffles with the same packaging, still not 100% though!

When I was planning I toyed with the idea of making cookie favours in little cellophane bags. I did some samples but don't have the pics on this PC but in the end I decided mine didn't look that good and I couldn't be bothered with all that baking a couple of days before the wedding.

Was aiming for this sort of thing though (pic from http://www.triked.demon.co.uk/novelty-cakes/ who used to be a HIB)

    Hi .

    They are from ebay.

    Heres the link

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LOVE-SWEET-LOVE-Favor-Stickers-Labels-Seals-Any-Color-/360255091799?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53e0e07457

They arrived 2 days ago, so they took about two weeks and are as great as the proof!
