OH and I are currently arguing about this! I would love to give everyone a charity pin badge (i want to choose different charities to suit different people, cat lovers cats protection etc) but OH hates the idea, and says i shouldn't be giving to charity on other peoples behalf. He likes the idea of lottery tickets, which i am not really fussed about. I have thought of compromising and giving everyone an organza bag with a pin badge, lottery ticket and a chocolate? What's everyone's opinion on this? I just hate the idea of wasting lots of money on just chocolate that no one will really appreciate (and maybe not eat!) Would much rather the money went to a good cause.

I'm struggling with this too. We don't want chocolates, those cake pops or the traditional almonds.

We got a keyring bottle opener at one wedding and use it all the time so are looking for something useful rather than something to eat but am probably verging on a miniature for the fellas and a candle for the ladies and some sweets for the kids.

I didn't bother. I thought about making lavender hearts for the ladies but couldn't think of anything for the men and didn't want to do one without the other. Also I've been to loads of weddings and can only remmeber the favours at one, so i figured they were that important! I did make little origami boats though which I put sweets in to go on the tables. My three newphews ate most of them I think!

We have some large pebbles that I've handpainted names on for the reserved seats during the ceremony and "Stephanie" took me 3 attempts to get to fit...

We're going for cheap and cheerful. organza bags filled with M&Ms!

I racked my brain for ages on this looking at charity badges and items that were more personalised to us but I couldn't think of anything so have just gone down the simple route!

We're making our own elderflower gin, and have bought tiny little bottles from hobbycraft to put it in. Then we're going to put a 'wish' sticker on every one.

We're probably having little organza bags filled with Haribo hearts and rings - my OH proposed with a Haribo ring and then handed me a heart saying "and I give you my heart" so they have a bit of meaning for us and we were thinking about referring to them in the speeches just so people know why we chose them.

Wow some lovely stuff there and some fab ideas!! I'm really liking the pillow boxes but have no idea how to jazz them up. I have bought a butterfly cutter which I have used for my invitations but not really sure what else to add. I have had a sample sent out today and tried it with the buttefly but what else could I add?? xx

We are not planning to have any favours, the main reason because we are not having a formal sit down, more of a free for all sit where you like or roam around, the second to save a little money! We may if I have time, make Homemade Cookies and decorate, and pack in bags, then just leave them in a basket somewhere with a sign, 'Help Yourself'.
