Wedding Favours

Jaycinda_1612, 11 February, 2013 at 20:59 Posted on Planning 0 16

Im undecided what to have as wedding favours.... Can anyone give me any ideas? I dont want to spend a fortune for them to be left behind on the tables. How much is the norm to spend on favours per person?

Depends how many people you're having.

I'm only having 24 so I'm doing 8oz jam jars with homemade biscuits. If I was having a lot of people then I'd probably go for those little boxes you can buy and decorate yourself. They work out a lot cheaper per person.

We are doing miniatures, offering guests a choice of about 6 different spirits on the RSVP then attaching 2 drink tokens to each for the evening :-)

The women have embroidered hearts filled with lavender with their names on. The men have small jars of chilli jam made by me.

Fortune cookies? You can have them personalised. Flower seeds? Take a look at uniqueweddingfavours.... They have a few good and cheap ideas on there. Mini orchid candles for the ladies, 50p each, personalised rock too I think xx

Thanks everyone for their great ideas, each one I have read is so unique. I will be thinking of something that the guests can remember the wedding by, I quite like the idea of the seeds. I am so excited xx

I'll be giving seeds from my nanas garden, in a little bag with a card attached with the name of the flower. I may also do sugared almonds. Something simple and cheap Smiley smile but the seeds mean alot to me.

I'm filling mini 5cl bottle with strawberry vodka and I'm going to make shortbread and just put them in cello bags tied with some ribbon. I think all in all it will cost about £40 for approx. 85 favours. We are having favours at the evening party as there are only 16 of us for lunch!

Strawberry vodka sounds nice. Where are you buying that from as it sounds really reasonable?

    Thanks!

I've made the strawberry vodka - really easy to do. All you need is caster sugar, strawberries, vodka and a sterilised bottle (one with a wide neck - I've used a large Kilner jar)

Put strawberries in the jar - nearly to the top, then fill the bottle about two thirds of the way up with caster sugar and then add the vodka. Seal the jar and leave somewhere cool and dark for about 3 months. After three months- strain through muslin and it's ready to go. I've only had two months to do mine so I give the bottle a bit of a shake every now and again to speed things up a bit.

It becomes more syrupy and sweet over the three months.

    Hi,

We've bought our from a company called Maple Molly's. They handmade everything and personalise things if you want.

We decided on little chocolates with colour coordinated sprinkles..

I was the same as you and didn't want them just to be left behind.

We have decided that we will be doing charity favours and buying a number of pins or wristbands from 2 different charities and giving these are favours, one for the males and ne for females. This way other people are benefitting and the guests have something to remember the day by.

Think we will do sunflower seeds for the kids so they can grow them and remember the day Smiley smile

    xxxx

We are giving cake pops for our favours, they're relatively cheap (they're being made for us at 90p each) and as they are edible i thought that they would be less likely to go to waste!

We thought about lottery ticket or Scratch cards but i would be angry if someone won hahahha!!!

We have also thought about donating to charity as my nephew has leukemia and wanted to donate to candle lighters (thinking of purchasing badges)

But still thinking about the favors as the is over 120 in the day and 180+ at night
