Wedding flowers

Hello every one

I'm so green about this wedding planning but was wondering if any one could give a rough price on flowere for the big day? We would need...gulp ... 2 pedestal arrangements, 1 window arrangement, 1 small one for the signing table, 1 brides posy, 2 bridesmaid posies, 1 flower girl ball, 9 button holes and 5 corsages I think. I know it all depends on what flowers they choose but what they can choose depends a bit on price if you see what I mean. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. ( I am a brides mother so want to know what budget to offer my daughter and her H2B)

Going by my area and the prices i have been given for a similar amount of flowers for roses and calla lillies..

    Brides - £120

    Pedestals - £50

    Top table - £75

    Bridesmaids - £45

    Button holes adults £4.50 each

    Button hole child £2.50

So based on that you might get a rough figure?

Pop in to a few florists they are normally happy to give you prices, it seems to vary so much depending on area, time of year and type of flower x

Hi, I think from reading posts about costs for flowers, cakes etc it does seem to vary hugely on wherabouts in the country you are! I'm in the midlands and it's £60 for my bouquet (hand tied roses, hydrangeas, freesias and lisianthus), £30 for each bridesmaid posey, £5 per button hole and £6 per corsage which includes delivery and all that. We're getting our pedestals done from the lady who sorts the Church flowers but think they are between £75 and £100 - pricier than I thought so we're probably just getting one for the alter. If you're on a budget though there are loads of different things you can do like buy little vases for £1 from ikea and just have a couple of flowers in on each table - like a sunflower or some sweet peas - one friend did this with jam jars, tied with a little ribbon then gave them to the guests to take away, it worked so well and saved loads of cash!

It very much depends on where you are in the country and which flowers you use and how large the arrangements are. There are prices on my website for various designs which may help give you a rough guide although mine are all artificial rather than fresh so if you went for exotic flowers in fresh such as orchids for example, they would be much more expensive in fresh than in artificial if you see what I mean. If it's a church wedding, have a word with the minister about pedestals in church as these are often provided by the chuch flower arranging ladies but beware...! Some churches are cottoning on to the fact that they can make extra money out of pedestal arrangements and they could end up being more than your local florist would charge so it pays to shop around Smiley winking

I paid £90 for my bouquet and £50 for the bridesmaids smaller bouquet. Our venue provided all the other flowers so I saved a fortune!
