We did a list eventually because a) guests were stressing about what to get, b) I don't like cash for wedding gifts.

I did a list of 'various' things for house and kitchen and didn't specify suppliers just what we'd like, and an example or two, and if I knew the cheapest place to get it I made a note of that too.

We did a John Lewis gift list. We got vouchers too and money from our parents. It was great fun going round the shop with the zapper!

I'm not doing one. We're budget wedding planning and have lived together for years so really don't want gifts. We've asked our guests to help with the wedding instead, not via cash but by providing for the evening buffet or offering their talents etc... if we are given gifts or cash we will, of course be incredibly surprised and grateful but will be stressing that what we really want is a darn good party!

Not asking for anything as a gift... We have our home & 2 beautiful children so nothing we can add to that!

We will be having a familymoon in south of France for a week straight after and then a "just us" honeymoon will be a week in NYC in August as a honeymoon/30th bday treat for moi! Smiley smile

MM3, that's exactly how we felt, but some of the older contingent got really quite upset that there wasn't a list, they didn't want to do vouchers and they were concerned at an unwanted gift going to waste. I ended up feeling like a list was just the kindest thing I could do, lol.

Honeymoon list Smiley smile We've put a lot of time, money and effort into our planning and have given a fair amount at other people's weddings gift wise, so I have no qualms about giving guests somewhere to donate if they want to. It's not an obligation though.

We did a John Lewis list. We've not long been in our house so there were bits that we needed, and like others have said some of our family were stressing and kept asking what we wanted so it suited everyone in the end!
