Wedding in Marbella 09/13

TheLillaJade, 22 August, 2012 at 12:16 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0 2

Although I have been lurking about on this board for a couple of months (and planning my big day since about 6 months into out 6 year relationship) my (now) fiancee proposed Friday last week!

My family have a house in Spain that used to belong to my grandad who I was really close to, so I have always wanted to have my wedding there. The house is beautiful and the grounds are suitable. What I'm worried about is getting ripped off by the locals - I'm not being nasty, but the Spanish people and ex pats living near Marbella can spot a tourist a mile away and will add an additional 50% on to prices.

I was tempted just to ask people to bring their cameras and then email me the photos and then read about the apparent rise in virtual wedding albums, where people encourage their guest to add wedding photos to an online site. What is a reasonable price for a wedding photographer? Everything will be at the house including the ceremony so we would probably only have them for 2/3 hours and then I could still ask people to take photos alongside the photographer and put them in a virtual album.

Also has anyone looked into or have booked/used a photo booth service at their wedding?

Love lilla x

    Hey Lilla

It varies, but normally guest photo's are nowhere near as good as a pro tog (a good pro tog).

I am well on my way in terms of arrangements and flying out later on this month to meet with venders! I honestly can't believe this is really happening! I found this really useful article about getting married abroad that i though I would share:

    Hi Lilla,

Congratulations on your wedding!!! I live in spain and am getting married 31/08/2013 in benalmadena whihc isn t that far away from marbella. I agree with you when you say that the prices are soooo over the top. My partner is spanish and we started planning 5 months agoand we are really having to shop around to get the best prices, because in general the prices are sky high. We got about 15 quotes from different photograhers, some were even 1600€, ridiculous prices. In the end we have settled for one which will do video and photos all day including you having hair and make up done etc. for 495€ and he will give us a pendrive with all of the photos on so that we can make our own albums. If you need any help with anything, just say. xx
