Wedding Insurance

Four-Little-Monkeys, 4 April, 2010 at 09:18 Posted on Planning 0 6

Does anyone know if we would need to have 2 wedding insurance policies? Our wedding (ceremony and breakfast) is on Thursday 12th August and our evening reception is on Saturday 14th August 2010. Also has anyone used E&L Wedding Insurance?

I don't know about the 2 insurances for different days, the best thing you could do is speake to the insurance company. The staff at Ecclesiastical were really good when I rang with a query. The policies are available on line, but you can phone too for queries./

I have heard that E&L are not so good at paying out - not just with wedding isurance, but pet insurance etc too. There are some reviews here: https://www.reviewcentre.com/products2328.html

Not too sure - best to check with them I think. We got our daughter's wedding insurance from M & S which seems to cover everything except splitting up that is! But she is marrying late in the afternoon and the reception will be the evening reception as well so to speak.

I have used Ecclesiastical too. I work for another insurer, and had never heard of E&L whereas Ecclesiastical are well established so I went with them. Sid x

Oh noooooo, I took mine out with E&L. Now I've read this and all the reviews and I may as well not have it at all! What can I do? I don't want to fork out again for insurance but I don't have faith in my policy now Smiley sad

Not familiar with this company but when i took my policy out i had to specify what date my ceremony was on and then also separately had to specify what date my reception was on - which leads me to think it wouldn't matter if they were on separate days and this would be allowed on same policy!

    Hi all

it doesn't tend to matter if there is a time delay between the wedding and the reception as long as you specify the dates.

chosing a wedding insurance supplier can be difficult - most of them you will not have heard of before. however - this shouldn't necessarily put you off them. i would look carefully at your policy or maybe just ring them - sometimes you get a much better understanding from speaking to someone.

and finally - no, I'm pretty sure you shouldn't end up with two policies

would like to know how you get on....
