Wedding Insurance advice

sarahl79, 7 March, 2009 at 11:23 Posted on Planning 0 3

Good morning! H2B and I paid deposit on venue last night (?) and now that we have made our fist big financial outlay we're wondering about wedding insurance... have had a quick look around through Google but I'd really value advice and others experiences as I don't really know where to start..!

TIA

Sarah

Hi Sarah - how exciting to get venue booked! Defintely worth getting insurance. There seem to be loads of companies out there but we went with one called weddingplan. Many companies wouldn't insure us as we live overseas but this one did, they were really helpful and their prices seemed pretty reasonable - suited us anyway. I think first of all you need to think about the overall cost of your wedding as there are lots of different packages around.

Thank you - have looked at both of your suggestions and they both look fine to me. I can't seem to find how much the excess is on the e&l policy - don't suppose anyone knows what it is off top of head?

Someone on here recommended these to me, apparently E&L insurance isn't recommended as they sometimes try to get out of paying up!
