Wedding invitation wording etiquette

SillyWrong, 31 January, 2014 at 09:28 Posted on Planning 0 4

Thought some of you may find the following site interesting as I have ...

https://laurenconrad.com/blog/post/wedding-bells-invitation-etiquette-wording-lauren-conrad

I don't agree with every piece of advice on there (for example, we won't be putting our parents names on the invites event though they are helping us out with costs - because it's messy, ALL of our parents are divorced/remarried and the helping out is a gift from all 8 of them - we can't list everyone!!)

Hmmm the funny thing is I've browsed A LOT of websites and thou some of these rules are the same others are the totally opposite!!! :/ when its comes to this stuff there really isn't a universal 'right' way to do it.

My wording was determined by my relationship with my family, i've seen lots of wedding and I know how they like to be addressed and what they do and don't like. still a minefield thou.

I've not done a lot of that tbh! I bet Lauren won't either haha

I do like formal invitations, but my invitation style didn't really suit it

We are not putting parents names on our invites, instead we are putting both our names and their families , or something similar we have the same problem with parents being divorced and remarried so there are 4 lots!

It's an American site. American etiquette is not necessarily the same as British etiquette.
