Wedding Invite Help

LouLaBellexx, 1 March, 2012 at 19:25 Posted on Planning 0 4

Hello Ladies

I am going to try make my own invites, ideally I would like pocketfolds.

Can anyone offer any tips? Has anyone got any templates for printing them they could share or did you use a specific design package etc?

Any tips would be great. Thank you :-) xx

    Hi Lou,

This website has the pocketfold cards on it and the templates to do them too, The templates are in word, so you can change them about a bit as you need to. Will make it really easy to do. They have all the inserts precut as well.

I ordered my pocketfolds from pocketfoldinvites.co.uk they can send you templates when you order from them I think the template is a word document. I made my own template in CorelDraw, have flashed for you to see (these were my mock up invites they have changed slightly since then.

I too went for pocketfolds & initially thought I'd make them all from scratch. In the end I bought pocketfolds & had the wording printed, but I had to assemble the envelopes, stick the invite into the pocketfold & decorate myself. I must say, that despite being crafty, by the end I was rather sick of doing them!

I found the professional printing, esp as I had double sided inserts with maps etc on, looked so much better than I could have managed at home. Also, getting the correct sizing for the inserts & cutting them into a perfectly straight sided sqaure, was harden than I thought, despite buying a special cutter.

I used 'PDA card & craft' (https://www.pdacardandcraft.co.uk/) & did it all via the phone & emails. They had the largest range of plain card, textured card, pocketfolds, colours, shapes, thickness of card I found anywhere. Its worth having a look, even if you just buy plain card from them & do it all yourself, but you might find having them at least cut out into pocketfolds helps.
