wedding magazines

Keltickurse, 7 February, 2010 at 20:47 Posted on Planning 0 14

Can anyone reccomend any good wedding magazines, i've been very good (so far) and only bought two but can't get over the difference between them, one is a handbag size mag cost only 2.99 and is packed with ideas (Wedding Ideas) the other cost me £4.90 (you and your wedding) and despite being twice the size and twice as thick seems to be one big long book of dress advertisments and very little content wise.

Can anyone out there reccomend any other good wedding mags?

Yeah, i much prefer the two small ones. The big ones just seem to have loads more adverts like you say!

Honestly jo I keep buying these mags and regretting them every time (I don't know why I I keep doing it!) they're all as bad as each other - full of adverts and the editorials are really ads as well. you can get much better ideas online.

Saying that - I think wedding ideas is one of the better ones....

I've got a huge stack of mags just piling up - all yours if you want!

I loved Wedding Ideas magazine and bought it every month. I don't buy them any more as I've sorted everything for my wedding now. I also used to like Perfect Weddings and You and Your Wedding.

IMO Wedding Ideas magazine was the best.

I've bought Brides a couple of times, but really it was a big fat waste of money. it is nice to flick through and look at the pretty dresses and ideas just a shame that i think it was tailored to brides who had a a much bigger buget to me.

    Tango,

Thanks for the offer but i'm trying to keep the pile down at the moment, I've also got a pretty good idea of most things i want (is that a bit sad conisidering the wedding is over a year away?) just like to have a little skim now and again ?

Seems the first mag I picked might be the best then - i'll just stick with wedding ideas for now.

has anyone bothered with the hair/flowers magazines? Are they any good? I've done a bit of trawling on the internet but not found very much?

I bought a whole range of wedding mags when I was planning our wedding from you & your wedding, cosmo bride, Brides and wedding ideas and to be honest I thought wedding ideas was the best mag out of them all and alot kinder to the purse. Full of great ideas and the pages that focused on real weddings a found it a super read. Their website is good too and its free! I've kept the better ones in my little storage box as it gives me fond memories of my planning days. Its our second wedding anniversary on 28 Feb although we actually got married on 29th - long time to wait inbetween leap years! ?

I bought a few to start with but like wedding ideas & perfect weddings best (both handbag sized). they didn't seem to be as full of adverts as the rest. they also have quite a few ideas pages. helped me when i first started planning.

Yeah, I think I've tried 'em all - (possibly not Bride) and it's the little uns that win! I guess if you really wanted to just look at dresses, the big ones are quite good for that 'cos they're so many ads. I'm sorted on a lot of the things like flowers, dress etc - only got little touches left - but I still can't stop picking up perfect wedding and wedding ideas!

The only thing I'd say is sometimes the big ones can have decent gifts - I got a good readings book from one.
