Wedding make up

Pink Sparkle, 13 December, 2015 at 20:46 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi

Me and OH are at early stages of wedding planning having not log ago booked our venue for October 2016. I was looking around at booking hair/make up. Was wandering if anyone has used or will be using airbrush make up? Not all make up artists do airbrushing but am trying to decide whether it worth booking a make up artist that does airbrush make up so that it is an option. Foundation never lasts on me so thought airbrush make up might last longer.

Has anyone used it or planning to use it for their wedding?

I might be using it, but will discuss it with my mua during my trial to see what the best option is. Sorry I can't be more help at the moment but if you're still not decided by the time I have my trial (probably April) then I'll be happy to answer any questions!

I'm having a similar discussion with myself! Foundation always ends up on my clothes/hands/who knows where, so I'm tempted to spring the extra for airbrush make up, but am not sure if it is worth the extra money or if it really DOES last all day.

I'm hoping to have two trials before my wedding (which isn't until May '17) One to just 'try' the airbrush make up and see if it suits me and if it works... one for an actual wedding trial with whoever I decide to use.

Having said that, I too would be interested to hear from anyone who has used airbrush make up!

I had airbrush makeup done when I was a bridesmaid and it was great. It looked really natural and lasted all day. I was first to get my makeup done early on the morning and it lasted until I took it off at 3am.

Sorry not much help here but the lady I have booked in for a 'pre trial' doesn't use airbrush because she doesn't think the coverage is as good and it doesn't last as long!

I always thought that airbrush was supposed to have better coverage and stay put for longer.....so confused and lost with all of this now!x

I have issues with make up lasting on me all day so opted for airbrush, it was fantastic! Definitely worth the extra because it did stay put all day. My mua suggested I buy my own lipstick for her to apply though since that will wear off. By having your own you can always reapply later in the day which is what I did, though I only remembered to once. The airbrush itself was brilliant though.

My Mum and I had it for my wedding. It was fantastic and looked very natural. I don't usually like wearing full make-up but it felt very light. It was a very hot day and I was constantly having to borrow my dad's or OH's (clean!) hankie to dab the sweat away but the make-up didn't shift. In fact it took me about quarter of an hour to get it off at 2am when we finally went to bed.

Thanks. Will look at booking someone who offers airbrushing so can atleast try it and then decide. Any recommendations for the Surrey area will be gratefully received!

Hi NikkiB24 - I'm getting married in Surrey and have booked Clare Pinkney, who does airbrush makeup: http://clarepinkney.co.uk/

I'm looking forward to trying it at my trial! Have heard nothing but good things about it from others!
