Wedding make up (west midlands)

M and M, 1 December, 2010 at 17:18 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hi

Can i ask who is doing there own and who is having someone do it for them? Id love to have someone do it for me but then Im looking at £90+ for just myself and dont no if i want to pay this incase i dont like it? Im fussy with my make up and never had anyone else do it before.

Also if you can recommend anyone worth looking into in the west midlands that would be great! Thanks

    Hi Mel,

I've been having exactly the same dilemma as you about make up but in the end Ive decided to book someone as I'm worried I'll be too nervous and faffing about to do my own on the day. I've searched high and low but in the end Im going with Claires bespoke wedding services and they cover the west mids area x

Hi Mel, I had a successful trial with Chloe at Simply nails and Beauty in Warwick - £30 trial, £25 plus 0.40p per mile travel costs on the day:

She will travel to your house/venue on your wedding day.

I dont think I am going to have a professional do my make - up, we are doing our wedding on a pretty tight budget so I really cant afford it as much as I would like to. Are any of your friends or bridesmaids good at putting make - up on? also as crazy as it sounds if you type wedding make up on youtube there are loads of tutorials on there and some really happy tips.

    good luck!!

I will be trying to find someone to do mine but I have been struggling. I used to live in Milton Keynes and had mine done a few times down there and loved what they did. They used Jane Iredale mineral make up and it lasted all day and looked fab.

I considered doing it myself but I don't wear an awful lot of make-up on a day to day basis - literally foundation, bit of blusher, eye colour and a smidge of lipcolour. Even when I go out I only make my eyes darker and add eyelines and lip tint and Mascara.

I've worked out what I'd need to buy to do it myself: Basecoat - £28, Finishing powder - £35, New lip color - £17, New eye colour suitable for a wedding - £15. And then I am getting to a number where I might as well just get someone to do it for me as I won't use most of that stuff after the big day.

But I just haven't found the right person yet.

No they don't, do they...I only tried there as I've had other treatments there. It is Bare Minerals and it was lovely, couldn't feel it on my skin at all but looked great.

Hi Mel Have you found anyone yet? I live in Dudley & have found someone to do mine. I went for a trial last week and loved it. She's charging me £40 & travel cause she's coming out to Shrewsbury. I don't want to put her details on here in case she doesn't want me to but if you sent me your contact details and date & venue I can pass them on to her to call you. ********@*******.*** Bird x
