Brie and some stuff the exact details of which I can't remember at the mo

Cumberland sausage, mash & bury black pudding

Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding (though OH is now having a wobble that it'll be too heavy and discourage dancing so maybe raspberry creme brulee & shortbread biscuit)

I had West Indian food. Think Salt fish, Jerk Chicken, Plantain etc.

    We had:-

Smoked salmon on a big blini with creme fraiche, capers and lemon

or the veggie was Spinach and Ricotta roulade with a tomato sauce (gorgeous)

    Mains were

Chicken stuffed with peppers in a tarragon and mushroom risotto

or veggie was vegetarian mille feuile (pastry) with sides

Desert was a Mango charlotte, as was not too heavy.

I would steer away from beef as people like it cooked too differently so please everyone.

Sounds fab - any particular reason? I love food that is a bit different at a wedding.

These all sound lovely! Making me hungry reading them :-)

I agree about the beef and how everyone likes it cooked differently. Think we will stay away from that.

Whats everyones opinions on just have 1 choice for starters/ mains (1 meat option 1 vegetarian option) / deserts?? xx

We just had one choice - but if you were vegetarian, you obviously had that.

Nobody knew the menu before they came (apart from close friends and family)

Most wedding venues just do 1 choice, with a veggie alternative. Pretty standard.

My Husband's of West Indian decent and it was all about the food. We didn't want people to go away hungry so brought in outside caterers to put on a huge spread. We had three options for every course to allow others to be able to try something different. They didn't have to just choose one, they could have all three if they wanted. All the sides like the dumplings, rice and peas etc were on the table to help yourself to.

My side of the family loved it as its not something they would usually have and so did my Husbands. Really glad we went with something different now.

Mmm sounds wonderful. I love different food. My hubby is french and my family's jewish so food is both a huge part of our cultures, so at our wedding it was really important to make sure there was plenty of food - hated the thought of there not being enough food and standard was so important to us!

Your food sounds wonderful, and it's grest to do something a bit different and that which stands out.
