Wedding Meltdown [:@]

Vikster79, 11 February, 2011 at 10:55 Posted on Planning 0 5

I have had, am currently having and will continue to have a wedding meltdown! Everything has come down on me like a tonne of bricks and i dont do pressure or stress very well ?. Just need to have a winge, feel free to slap me round my virtual face. As you know the MIL and OH's family wanted to go away the week after our wedding so that we can spend some "family" time together which i was originally peeved at, but as they are travelling from NZ i decided to put up and shut up but we made a point of saying that we cant afford much obviously as we are having our official honeymoon next Jan/Feb and going to NZ. Her mom offered to pay for a villa (we sort our flights and spends) and yesterday it was confirmed that we are going to Siena in Italy. I have been searching for flights and they are either rediculously expensive £326! ?or dont go direct or dont go on the days we want. Now i may sound ungrateful to some but i really am not i am just concerned as to how the hell we are going to afford this break and then save up enough to travelling to NZ for 5 weeks later on. It feels like we have been saving our arse of for ages now and its getting to me. To add to that the train prices for our Hen do have gone up and peeps have had to fork out more, which i feel bad about as they are spending enough as it is. I have bought all the tickets and am now completely broke and getting the money back is always a pain. We also had to get rid of our car a while back so are now stuck and getting to our venue is a pain in the backside and we need to get there for our menu tasting on Sunday, which I should be looking forward to but im not. One good thing i went to the dentist this morning and I just had a scale and polish and needed no treatment - every cloud eh ?

Vikster- I remember this feeling of being drained from every angle well. I did have an actual meltdown though, H marched me to docs back in Oct ?

It's hideous I know, and it is all worth it, but that is no comfort now ?

I honestly dont know how we actually did it but you do and you will. This break sounds like more hassle than its worth though- can you pull out? Surely they will understand?

    xx

Look to make things better I'll give you my panto dress................ if that doesn't mke you fel better I don't know what will.

Vikster - really don't know what to suggest, maybe just tell OHs family that as much as you would love to go you really can't afford it but would be more than happy to do something special with them when you get to NZ.

This is my point and i have told my OH that i am leaving it up to her to sort out flights because i am seriously losing my rag with it all. Its very nice of her to offer to pay for the villa, but adding to that our spending money (Florence aint like Magaluf!!?) and flights and trips etc., its going to end up costing heaps. I really wish i could pull out Laura and the way i am feeling, someone is going to get the silver side of my tongue ?

I think i need a nice glass of wine, soak in the bath and a lie in.

Oh easily- it could mount to alot of money.

Leave it to your OH and tell her you do not want this affecting your honeymoon and if she can find a way around it then great. Hopefully she will see that its not doable.

    For you--- ???

How about flying into say Pisa and then driving to Sienna? Not sure if you were planning on hiring a car there anyway? If you are hiring a car you might find flying into one airport and out of another is cheaper and most car hire companies will allow you to pick up at one place and drop off at another. Hope you get it sorted, it can be a very stressful time, but will be worth it in the end!
