most of my friends who have had traditional church ceremonies have had "here comes the bride" and gone out to the wedding march - they've all got married over the last 5 years or so. im having a civil ceremony so choosing own songs that mean something to us

I'm with GB on this one. I dont think I'd feel like it was a proper wedding without here comes the bride!!! I've found a lovely piano version for my civil ceremony

If you want it, then have it!!! There's nothing wrong in sticking with tradition!!!!

I say do whatever YOU want and don't worry about what anybody else thinks or says.

As for your 1st dance song - if that one means a lot to you and your OH then thats what you should have. Its supposed to be special to you two.

Many people still do it. I played it for a couple just last week. The Wedding March still gives me goosebumps! (shucks)
