Do you ever worry that you're not going to make a good bride (or groom)? I see all of these wonderful wedding reports and blogs and think how fabulous people look. Happy, radiant and like they're having the best day of their lives.

I woke up in the early hours of this morning thinking that I was going to look like a kid dressing up as a bride. It's difficult to explain. I just feel a little weird about it. I'm normally very comfortable in my own skin. I'm good at keeping my own counsel and, over the past few years, have realised I'm good at what I do which has enabled me to build a business. I've even been asked to contribute to a book (yes, I know it's ridiculous!). I know I'm a good person (I'd like to think!) and people are delighted we're marrying but I just think I'm going to be rubbish at the wedding part of my life and I don't want to let Mr CB down!

I'm not worried about the type of wedding we're having, those we're inviting or the darling Mr CB. Perhaps I've suddenly just become nervous as I know it's actually happening and my nerves are playing out in this way.

Does this make sense to any of you? Any B2B/OM's out there who don't think I'm a complete spoon for worrying over something that sounds so daft?! Any advice/comments/abuse welcome!

I suspect I'll feel much better once things start to come together but thought I might as well mention it.

Yours,

Confused and over worked of West London.

    CB

Havent had time to read all your replies but the ones I did looked great.

From my point of view as an OM I know exactly how you feel, I was rubbish at weddin gplanning (so you are alreaddy a step ahead of me) I only ever did half a mood board didn't have a theme, only just had a colour scheme (sort of) and I never ever look good in photos generally I don't even look human so wedding photos and looking glamrous is a truly long shot for me. (If you need proof I will link you my entire wedding album completely with grumpy face, funny face, round shoulder and manic stare bridal looks and inspite of this I still have some nice photos).

However now the day has been and gone I loved getting married and thats the bit you will remember, if you have a good time everything else will be fine.

Here is my bridal check list

    1) Ensure you have bridesmaids with you who make you laugh when getting readdy. I laughed all morning

    2) If you are having hair/ make up done get people you feel relaxed around.

    3) Knicker dress check V important

    5) Lipstick teeth check important

    6) May only apply to me, Stop reading wedding magazines, Once i ditched the magazines alot of my wedding stress/ feeling like an inadequate bride dissapeared.

CB, if it helps I can completely identify with how you're feeling. We've only got 19 days to go and I don't feel like we'll ever be ready. I haven't lost the three stones I was supposed to for a start off, and my to do list is still two pages long ?

BUT - I keep telling myself now that as long as the big stuff is done, nothing else matters. Like no one will know that we were planning to have tealights everywhere if we don't get them finished. It won't make any difference to the day, really.

From what I've read of your posts you sound like you're going to be a great host and that's what matters and what people will remember.

Thanks, ladies, that's kind of you.

Perhaps I should get Claire to come and run my wedding for me!

No, you didn't offend me! It was my first wobble but I feel much better for it now, especially knowing I'm not the only one! If my timing is anything to go by, you can have yours in about 3 and a half months!

Just let me know when you need my address to send the invite to Cricks. I am an ace present wrapper-er and I will also do a dance routine at your wedding. Fact.

P.S. My dance troupe will also be joining me but you can just give them the cheap seats. I, however will require a seat up front next to la famille.

?I haven't thought about this game in years!!! - awesome!

CB I'm sure your day will be fantastic, your plans are truely gorgeous!

I've also been plagued with dreams, I keep dreaming that I haven't organised anything and I have no makeup lady or hair lady my dress isn't the right size and I'm so late, once I even missed the ceremony completely!

I'm not an organised person I always leave everything til the last minute which I have refused to do with my wedding I thought it would make me feel better to be so organised but I think it's just stressing me out more... me and OH have agreed that we're going to have a wedding free December! hopefully this should help me relax and i'll get back on it in January probably after consuming a vat or two of port ?
