Wedding Photographer needed in london in May 2014. Budget: £1,000-£1,500

Hi Sam, don't panic, you have a good budget so shouldn't have a problem. The issue will be availability! I have one Saturday left for example and I know some with none! What is your date?

first, don't panic!!

second, ask around! Can any of your friends recommend you their photographer? The best thing to do is to have some try-before-you-buy shots done by a few photographers to see if their style is what you look for. Then ask to see whole wedding albums!

I personally asked around friends and family members who got married within the last 2 years, I looked through their wedding albums and I shortlisted the photographers with overall good quality photos of the whole wedding, not just the portrait photos. Then I had short shooting sessions with some of them (the available ones) and picked one who attended our engagement party (to test how good she is) and we loved all the photos. Her name is Laura Babb.

I've got stuff already for April 2015. Oddly enough, the Friday and Saturday of the same weekend. Whilst there will always be availability, the good ones go quick but your budget is perfectly reasonable so you should be fine.

I'd certainly sort it ASAP (which is what you're doing). The amount of 24th May's there are next year is crazy .

I'm booked out on the 7th, 10th, 17th, 23rd, 24th, 29th and 31st May (2014) - it's a mad month

It is common for couples to book a year or so in advance but a lot seem to be holding out for last minute deals so don't panic as others have said.
Your on the case now and I am sure you will find a photographer with no problems

Hi Sam, as others have said with a bit of shopping around I'm sure you will still be able to find someone who ticks all your boxes and fits your budget. May is certainly a popular month, but often you'll find that photographers will have a few random dates available, even if they are generally rather busy. I've got a few May dates still open - feel free to get in touch if you like what you see on my website. Main thing is though, don't despair - I'm sure you'll find the right one for you. Good luck.

We got married in London in June 2013, our photographer was Helena Amor, and she was AMAZING!!! Honestly, can't recommend her enough. Communication between us was fantastic throughout the process and the photos have surpassed our expectations. She was soooo lovely too, nothing was too much trouble for her and we gave her pretty much free reign to choose the poses and photos, which worked out great. I wouldn't suggest panic... All this means is that you may not get your first choice, but I am sure there will be someone whose work you love and who will be available.

Your budget is healthy and realistic, so that's one huge plus in your favour!

I wouldn't worry - there are still plenty of incredible wedding photographers out there who will still have availability for May. It's funny, some dates I've booked I could have booked a few times over, and other dates I haven't had any interest at all, so it's just all about chance and whether the person you love is still available - always worth sending an email and asking.
