Hey girls, we had such a fantastic day on Saturday and I can't believe how lucky we were with the weather!! We have some time between now and the honeymoon, which we go on on Friday (Italy, Venetian Riviera) so thought I'd do a report.
Friday 7th Aug- Day Before Wedding
By this point in our house we had my Mam, Dad, nephew Spencer, sister and BM Aimi and her boyfriend and usher Andrew- so quite a house full! All we had to do today was pick up dress and cake and go to the hotel, however it turned out to be quite hectic LOL! After everything was collected we drove to the venue just as lots of our guests and family were arriving to check in. We all had a great evening relaxing, drinking and having a meal and it made me look forward to the wedding day! (There are some day before photos SOMEWHERE in the hundreds I've uploaded!)
Saturday 8th August- WEDDING DAY!
Had a great night's sleep, was only awoken by my sister texting to see if I was up - LOL so we got up and went to breakfast with the other guests. Still wasn't nervous just ready to get started really. My hairdresser arrived @ 9am to do hair, she strated with my Mam and BM and did me last- which was a bit of a rush but we were ready on time! The make up artist came @ 10am and did my mother in law and then me, she did a great job! By this point the photographer and videographer was here and it was getting a bit hectic!!! While I was having my hair done I realised we hadn't drank any of the champagne we'd brought so we got to that straight away!
Anyway, in what seemed like a blink of an eye it was time to get dressed so my sister helped me into it at which point my Mam began crying -and I don't think she stopped for most of the day! We popped outside for a few photos and the IT WAS TIME! We were standing outside the ceremony room ready to go when I heard my music and thought - THIS IS IT! My Dad and I walked in and paused at the end for photos then he walked me down the aisle all I could do was smile when I saw Marc waiting for me looking handsome in his suit with a massive grin on his face! (Oh plus his mother behind him with her ruddy camera- I could've killed her! She stood in the way of the TOG so he couldn't get any shots!!! ) Moving on LOL The ceremony was lovely I was feeling a bit shaky with everyone watching but not nervous as such. The registrar was great, the readings lovely and it was all over pretty quickly and before we knew it we were signing the register. The room looked beautiful and I could smell all of the gorgeous lillies we'd chosen. Then it was time to walk back up the aisle and out into the sunshine as Mr and Mrs Sproat!
Outside we had a few formal shots but not many everyone had a drink, mingled and listened to the singer and pianist on the patio and gardens. My face was aching like mad after we'd posed for the photos!! Next it was receiving line, speeeches and breakfast. It was an amazing feeling walking the room to see everyone with their smiling faces and the cheering!!! The room was stunning and everyone kept telling me before we got in as they'd had a sneaky peek! The speeches were honestly excellent and Marc made almost everyone cry with what he said about me- bless him. The food was divine and the venue had arranged a surprise desert plate for us with all three of our desert choices and chocolate piping saying "Congratulations Kaye and Marc". By this point the TOG came to us with a handful of photos for us to choose one to go into the centre of the signature board. We got to keep the ones we didn't choose and we passed them around for the guests to look at.
After a while it was time to do the room change around ready for the night time. We kicked it off with cutting the cake and dancing then we did our first dance...shuffle Before everyone had a thoroughly good time- the only time I left the dance floor was to cool down outside, I was having such a good time! Soon it was buffet time, which went down well again and I got the biggest piece of my delicios cake that I could find! The TOG had set up a plasma TV in the side room which had a slide show of some of the photos and people loved sitting and looking at them!
It felt like I blinked and it was 12.30am and the last dance! Me and Marc went to the honeymoon suite which is ....let's say unique- but we loved it complete with jacuzzi and twinkly lights above the bed which looked like stars!
All in all we had and from what I have heard we had the most amazing day! I can't believe that the weather was good and that everything ran so smoothly. Some of Marc's work colleagues have decided I should be a wedding co-ordinator LOL!
I must must must say that one of the things that really made or day was the photographer he was laid back, had great ideas but listened to what we wanted and really added to the whole experience for us. Any North East ladies still looking for a photographer, I would urge yo to look at his website/call him, we git lots of comments from guests saying how great he was and the venue wedding co-ordinator thought Marc and I were friends of his because of the way we interacted!
