Wedding Ring

sovilla, 14 October, 2012 at 20:40 Posted on Planning 0 9

My other half and I didnt have a trypical proposal, we just kind decided we wanted to get married. So the engagement ring we got was kind of a stop gap until we could afford something better.

Well he finally bought me the engagement ring ive always wanted and im completely in love with it. My problem now though is standard wedding rings do not sit well with it as its quite large. I looked at some wishbone ones but that doesnt have that traditional look of a wedding ring and looks rather like an eternity ring.

Can you flash me some of your wedding rings as ive searched high and low on the internet but cant find anything I like. I would like it to be about 5mm also.

Heres my new engagement ring.

Wow that is a fab ring ?

If it were me I would have a plain solid band thats fairly chunky but probably just sits under/on top (wherever you wear it) of the raised part of your ring.

Good excuse to try on lots of lovely rings tho!

Mine wouldn't go with your engagement ring, but it's a little different and I love it:

My Diamonds come quite low too so I have a normal band but a section at the top of the ring cut out so my ring slotted in. Is that an option?

    Your engagement ring is fabulous!

You should drop an email to Liam Ross in Edinburgh. He designs a few different styles and makes a 3D CAD and emals them to you. If you like any, he will make up a wax model and you can go try it on with your engagement ring. He's very reasonably priced too. Not sure where you're placed but Lorraine Law in Dundee and Lava in Aberdeen also x

    Hi

Both my daughters have Smooch wedding rings. They bring a selection to your house, and will fit them to your engagement ring style. they are both thrilled with theirs.

    Loving the ring!

I got mine shaped to fit from http://www.theweddingringshop.co.uk/ but I work near there so was easy to get one done. They took an impression in some kind of putty and spent a good hour with various different shapes they had in stock to work out exactly how I wanted it to fit. There was another B2B who was picking up her shaped to fit ring at the time which was similar to yours and she had diamond set bands made to fit round top and bottom, one as a wedding ring and the other as an eternity ring, looking stunning, very bling! I would definitely go somewhere and get one made to fit perfectly - you are going to be wearing it forever! Mine needed a 5mm depth on a 2mm ring at one point because of the twist in my ring and was £925 but definitely worth it, can't wait to start wearing it. In 12 days!!!!!!

We were looking for a plain platinum band for me to go with my platinum engagement ring and a bit of a unique ring for H2B. We got both rings from wedding rings direct (www.weddingrings-direct.com). Found the platinum ring to be cheaper than most websites and could pick my exact ring. H2B (the awkward one) wanted something that wasn't available on any site that we could find so we went with their bespoke service, which was fantastic. Would recommend them.

Lovely ring :0) I agree that a plainer band would look lovely- anything blingy might distract a little from the beauty of your engagement ring. Having said that, my wedding ring has loads of baguette diamonds in it so it's far flasher than my engagement ring and I love the two together. I think it's just a case of browsing styles you might like then getting a bespoke ring made... It may be a tad pricier, but you will know it's a one off so you're worth it ;0) xx
