shoegal01, 29 April, 2010 at 10:02 Posted on Planning 0 23

Can you all flash your wedding rings please!!

I have tried a few on and none of them sit right with my engagement ring.

I am thinking for it to sit correctly i am going to have to have a bit of the wedding ring cut out maybe??

We are going to Hatten Garden on Sunday to have a look round.

Flash your rings and recomendations

You got any pics with your W ring and E ring together?

Can't flash coz im at work, but mine is just a court platinum band from Ernest Jones. I found it the best for my ER as it's the same width & leaves me enoughroom for an eternity ring ?

A friend got her WR the same place as her ER & they were able to get a slight wishbone shape to allow for the larger ER stones.

    Ahh shoey

I suspect i might have the same problem when we go to buy wedding rings, so we are going to the jewellery quarter in Bham and will get one made to fit. Aswe investigated this option when we were ER shopping!

Shoegal, sorry, no flashes, but I has major probs as my ring is a funny shape - two curved arms with a diamond in the centre. I went to Jay's Jewellers in Hatton Garden and they shaped a ring for me around my engagement ring. For my 18ct yellow gold shaped ring, and H2B's 9ct white gold 4mm they charged us £500. And they did it in about a fortnight.

My WR is about the same shape as this logo to fit underneath the engagement ring - it's perfect!

Hmm it was odd as they seemed to charge more for H2B's ring, but they only charged about 80 quid or so for shaping my ring - whearas I'd thought it'd be a good few hundred pounds!

I've got a 1ct diamond solitaire and wanted a traditional plain band to go with it. They sit nice together.

I went for a 3mm heavy weight ring to match my engagement ring (although my engagement ring tapers in to the diamond so the wedding rings looks thicker)

Here's a pic of my weding ring and engagement ring - but not together. Bargain at £299 (D's 4mm ring cost the same)

BethanW - where did you get yours from?

LOVE how it fits - im guessing it was custom made right?

GB - yours looks lovely - does the wedding ring sit flush with the engagement ring though?

    Yep ?

Edited to add - The stone setting on my engagement ring is quite high so the wedding ring sits flush.

Hi Shoey - mine were from Smooch. They came to my house, took my ER away and sent it back a few weeks later cleaned and sparkly. My WR arrived not long after that.

Not great images but you cou can see them better on the site

    http://en.edenly.com/solitaire-rings/white-gold-diadem-solitaire-ring,1141,3.html http://en.edenly.com/wedding-ring-gold-diamonds/wedding-ring-white-gold-semi-paved-bar-prong-setti,574,10.html

The were both ordered online so I havent had the opportunity to try them together yet ?. Fingers crossed! The engagement ring has relatively flat side though so im hoping they should sit flush together more or less!

It wasn't so much the sitting right i had a problem with, more i didn't like the way a plain band looked.

I have a solitaire princess cut engagement ring (platinum) and here is my platinum wedding ring, it was bout £700-£800.

I finally settled on a plain 3mm band (ER is 2.5mm) and the shape of the bands is identical which was really important for me I found out after searching every store in Glasgow and saying no to them all until I tried this one.
I want an eternity ring with diamonds and maybe I'll get one very soon! My solitare sits high enough up for the band to sit perfectly.

Mine is a blingy one! I have little fingers so I had to have thin rings or they wouldn't fit on my finger!
