Wedding Stationery ..... flash me!

*Bea*, 9 March, 2011 at 20:30 Posted on Planning 0 49

I am struggling to find invites that i like or could make. Yes I am really fussy. I don't like the type of invites you get in the free little catalogues you get in wedding magazines and I want something thats me and suits my wedding - i just dont know what it is yet.

So if that hasnt scared you off.. could you please flash your invites and/or wedding stationery for me ?

I was going to make mine as I wanted something simple but these were so cheap (£15 inc postage for 12) that it wasn't worth me getting my knicks in a twist or getting glue in my hair for that price!

She does other styles as well and was lovely to deal with, so helpful and efficient. She's on

We haven't decided yet but are the same as you.... we couldn't find invitations we really liked and often the font was just not what we were looking for. Went to the NEC Wedding show on Saturday and came away very disappointed. Anyway, after many hours of internet searching we've come up with a short list of two which we've requested samples. The shortlisted two are below. I got quite frustrated in the end and found the best results came from looking at wedding magazines (lots of) finding invitations I liked the style of and then going to the website of that designer.

In a different colour (we'd be having it in black):-

These are ours, we made them ourselves:

They worked out at just under £1 per invite.

We were the same, very fussy, decided against making our own as I neither had the time or patience to get them as PERFECT as I would have wanted.

We finally found Prettywild Design and totally fell in love with her invitations. We order 4/5 samples of different ones which were all fab in the flesh. We ended up going for this one in our colours of ivory/aubergine/gold.

Suzanne has been fab so far and we have just got our proofs through (which I need to look at tomorrow). Can't wait to get the actual invites.

I don't have actual pics of the day invites for some reason, but you get the idea.

The second one is from www.ohsoweddinginvitations.co.uk - company called oh so wedding.

Not sure of the quality of the invitations yet- just waiting for the samples to come .

Good luck in your search x

Ours are made by our very own HIB Natalie aka Inspire Me Designs. This is just the sample, so ignore the sticker lettering - on the real one it will be embossed.

The Save The Date cards were previously ordered from a company online but after our financial difficulties we couldn't afford the rest of the stationery from them. This is where Nat came in - not only she heroically put up with my tons of emails at all hours, but she was reasonably-priced, an excellent, creative designer - she came up with no less than 6 designs for me to choose from after I told her what we wanted, and she also made a sample of the design we chose and sent it to me for free!!! Flawless!!! We used also a pic that my OH had taken, so it was more personal to us...

    SAVE the dates:

Hey VP..... I'll pay you later. Very kind words - thank you ?

Please do feel free to get in touch to discuss your requirements. I offer a free, no obligation design service to make sure you get exactly what you want AND at a price you can afford.

I wouldn't bother with my website at the moment as it is being redeveloped but I have quite a few of my recent customs on facebook at www.facebook.com/InspireMeDesigns.

Our save the dates and invites didn't match, they were completely random and didn't even have our wedding colours on or anything.

We would like our name cards and table plan etc to match I suppose as it is on view.

I have just emailed Inspire me designs for a quote as I followed the link above and loved this one..... (We are having red as our wedding colour though and Gerbera daisies too)

Hope i'm allowed to flash this by the way!?

These are mine. You can get other designs. I think there is one of a wedding cake and another of a heart. Also you can have different colour inlays and ribbons etc.

You can't tell from the picture but they are on that pearlised card (think thats what it's called), it has a shimmer to it anyway.

Thank you for the mention, Wonky x

My website mainly shows my set designs (which can be adapted to suit) but I do a lot of bespoke work too. Here's a little montage of just a few of my favourite pieces from the past 6 months which aren't on the site yet.

    Hi there,

We had the same trouble as you it has taken us months to find the right wedding stationary and all were costing in at about £600.00. Which was alot of money I thought for something where you do most of the work.

I was looking on google one day and stumbled accross this website www.desireddesigns.co.uk

They were just what we were looking for somthing really different. You send the guy pictures and he creates cartoons of you. And best yet when I gave him numbers of what we needed he was cheaper than all the others. Also he won't send anything to print until you are 100% happy and will make as many changes as you require too.

I have emailed him my bits and am just waiting to get the proofs back :-)

    Hope this helps.

Fantastic hen party invitations there, Prettywild, not that I'm biased, oh no!

These are my invitations. Won't be to everyone's taste but were perfect for us.

Cricket Bride - I really like the stamp at the top of your invitation. Was that part of the invitation design or did you have a separate stamp?

Thanks. We had our stationers make it up for us but I'm sure you can get similar online. We also stamped the back of our envelopes with it.
