Wedding table query

Teal, 21 February, 2011 at 16:03 Posted on Planning 0 4

My brother is walking me down the aisle as dad died when I was 15. As he is acting as my father, should his WTB sit on the wedding table too? Or, would he sit with her at a guest table? I dont mind either way, just not sure.

It's such a sensitive and personal thing - I would say do whatever you are happiest with, don't feel you have to do anything one way or another and people will understand.

TBH I think who sits on the top table is a very personal choice and either would be fine.

Have a think and then maybe have a chat with them to make sure it won't cause any bad feeling, especially if you don't have a strong preference.

There aren't any hard and fast rules these days, sometimes B&G sit on their own 'love table'! If it was me, I'd definitely want my brother on the top table.

A few questions to ask yourself:

It depends how close you are to her

How many does the top table seat and would there be room for her?

Is she the easily offended type who would be upset if you didn't let her sit with her husband?

Will there be many other people there she know who she could sit with instead?

    Lots of questions!!

I think it depends how close you are to her/how much you like her, and whether she would know anyone on another table. I am not having partners on the top table, but made sure i seated them with people they have met and will get on with.
