When I started arranging things I didnt even consider a theme so now I think that everything is going to be uncoordinated! What sort of stuff do you like? Have you picked your venue yet and what is that like? I suppose you might have to think about that first.

Yesterday me and OH were talking about films and I thought it would have been ace to have a Back to the Future theme, with the reception decorated for the "Enchantment Under The Sea" dance, and a 50's theme! Then we could have had a DeLorean for a wedding car!!!

Sorry that probably is a bit OTT! But I am really annoyed that we didnt think of it when we started planning...!! Im probably not much help..... ?

We havent really gone for a theme, the table centres are all going to be different but with a bit of a general vintage theme.

I think secret garden/enchanted forest sounds really nice and its a theme which you can have as simple or as OTT as you like! Im think the most OTT would be completelly turning your venue into Narnia! though that would be cool!! ?

I like the sound of your idea ?

Our theme is "Tina Teaspoon and Mr Spoon get married". Yes this is probably lazy, but sometimes I do think these things can be over-thought ? And I am mainly trying to avoid turning into a crazy lady who spends every waking hour seeking a seashell-shaped candle holder!

    Yep same here Tina Teaspoon!

OH is in the army so that is going to be our general theme - obviously with the men in uniform and it will play a big part in the photos - OH has asked for me to be dressed up in his hat and for him to swing me round in him arms.

Hi KPBride2B - That's our theme! Main colours will be dusty pink and sage green. Loads of butterflies and fairies etc. We were originally going to go for a funky James Bond theme as OH is a complete film buff, but our venue lends itself much better to our enchanted garden theme. Don't know quite I managed to get him to change his mind and agree with me though. It's very girlie! ?

A friend of mine had a kinda country garden theme, it was beautiful! Potted bay trees around the room with ribbons and butterflies on, and the centrepieces were potted plants (can't remember what sort now), which they gave away to relatives at the end of the day. They also worked out much cheaper than having 'traditional' centre pieces.

We're having an autumnal theme for the reception, the table centrepieces are candles surrounded by foliage, fir cones and acorns. However I'm hoping for a lightly fresher feel to the ceremony as the BM dresses are aubergine and the flowers will be purple calla lillies and cream roses. That was the only way I could think of incorporating the two things I wanted.

I think your idea is lovely. x

Thanks everyone for your replies! Sorry I should have said - we're getting married at church and having a marquee at home afterwards so I suppose garden/forest theme will go quite well.

I like the idea of having butterflies and potted trees about - like one of you said, it can be as adventurous as we want it to be can't it! I'm a bit stuck on what colour to go for for the bridesmaid dresses as I don'[t like pink dresses and wasn't sure about green?! xx

We dont have a theme as such either, the colour scheme is brown, gold and cream/white. Im a massive chocoholic (hence the brown!) so chocolate will feature somewhere like the favours and place names. You just have to go with whatever you are comfortable with, Im not one for bright colours but people keep telling me to put another colour in the mix. I'm not going to change because I know I wont like it! I dont think you really need a theme, it will all come together naturally and look wonderful whatever you choose.

Hi,,,,,,,,,, I think I love the fairy-themed wedding but probably with less of those feathers. Like a more whimsical butterfly fairy wedding and then lots of butterflies incorporated in the wedding decors.
