wedding twins 18th/19th October

Caz79, 9 August, 2008 at 10:31 Posted on Planning 0 318

How is everyone doing with ten weeks to go. I added up wrong so I thought it was 10 weeks last week so now feel like I have an extra week, lol.

Is anyone a bit stressed yet?

Just booked my flowers today, and the ideas that she had are great so really excited about those, and it was the last big tick in the box, just loads of small stuff now.

Not stressed about it at the mo, but think having to trail my goth bm around the shops for shoes might just start the stress off ?

Im not stressed with the wedding as most of it is done, just like you say all the small bits to tie together. Im stressed out because of work and its making me a bit short tempered, poor h2b is getting most of it! But what really annoys me is that people think i am stressed because of the wedding, which im really not! I just cant wait for it to happen now.

    Hiya hons

Im stressed too with work, desperatly in need of my holiday (honeymoon)...... this year has been so long I have normally had a lot of time off by now but saving it all till oct, gonna have a week off b4 th wedding and 2 weeks after.... wont wanna go back lol.... lets hope my lotto numbers come up hahaha.

more or less sorted this end now , just the last minute details with the hotel where we are holding the whole venue, and my hen night on the 20th sept.

What u guys planning for ur hen?? I am having a v quiet planned evening of 23 of us going for a cantonese and a few drinks ...nothing extravagant...and I have promised my 2 younger bms( my daughter and s2b stepdaughter ) that we will have a girlie hen night at home too ... just to keep them included

i have now lost 21lbs for my wedding, aim to lose another stone if poss, dress needs to be altered now , h2b says i now need a boob job typical man lol .

I am so excited , feels like the time will never come ....

Ask me the week of the wedding when i am off work then i am sure i will be stressing then lol

    Vicks xxxxxx

Hi well you too are into your 9 weeks and 6 days phase now. I cant believe how quickly its gone but really glad it has as I am sooooo excited.

We dont go away until the week after the wedding and have MIL2B staying with us from SA the followng week. H2B has three weeks off but I dont have enough hols. so I am just taking 2 days before the wedding, then the honeymoon 2 weeks, and hoping I can work at home the week imbetween as cant face going into work!!

Not got anything planned for Hen yet, cant make up my mind, did fancy the cottage idea but cant seem to find something within our price range.

I am on a very strict diet at the moment, and am putting my dress fitting back so that hopefully they only need to take it in once, I am hoping they can take it in enough with it being boned so much.

How did we both manage to do this? I think someone has sneaked an extra week into the calendar! lol.

My hen night is 20th of september too - nothing too extravagant, just going around town. My h2b is off to poland the same weekend but I had to change passport so now have to stay in this country until the wedding. It seems like ages since I had a holiday. At the same time Im not getting ready for the honeymoon like I would going on holiday so I need to get my act together with making sure I have enough clothes etc.

Took my dress to dry cleaners last week as I got mine in sale so its been hanging in the wardrobe, fingers crossed it comes back ok.

Had my hair and make up trial a fortnight ago, while watching my sister have hers done it suddenly started to feel real and I started getting a bit excited.

Hiya Guys, hope you are having a good weekend!

I have had quite a chilled day today, It was daughters "dad" weekend so very quiet here, Jer and I went for a walk along the seafront this afternoon and went and had a look at the ruins of the pier, I was really naughty too , my diet went right out the window and I had fish and chips, you cant beat em when you are on the sea front they always taste different.

Cant believe the weekend is nearly over and just the thought of another week ahead of work looming makes me feel like I did as a child on a sunday evening when I knew I had to go to school the next day lol. Didnt win the lotto either so back to work tomorrow :-(.

Wow your venue needs final numbers this month? I think ours is 6 weeks before - I hope so anyway as our invitations are only going out this week, they were delayed due to me being ill.

Glad to hear your dress is ok, have you took it home or are you "hiding" it somewhere?

I am starting to get really narky at the moment, I so need a break, can I last till oct lol, I feel like I am slowly goin mad. I am soooooo tired too I slept 12 hrs last night and have felt knackered all day today.

We have final detail meeting 8 weeks before so I set my RSVP at what I thought was 10 weeks before to give 2 weeks to chase up, but as I got confused it was 11 weeks before - but now we know mostly who is coming and who isn't so its ok - we got RSVP's from most people for the day do and probally about 60 % of night do, rest we have chased up - those who dont reply now I will assume are not coming.

My dress is in my wardrobe - I have taken everything out of the bottom so my train can hang now so it doesn't crease too much, h2b has known not to look in there for a while now, and I know he wont peek as he really doesn't want to see it.

I have been feeling a bit down too - I think the weather doesn't help but also there is a bit of a lull at the moment with the wedding stuff, everything is done but it still feels like ages away. Work is also crap and I need a holiday. Hope you feel better soon.

    Hiya Hon

Thanks for the message, yes you are right I guess it could be the fact that the wedding planning has now come to a stand still and with hating work and needing a holiday, I think I was just feeling a little sorry for myself hahaha, though I have a bloomin sty in my eye today :-(.

I feel completley back to normal today :-) though I still wish I could win the lotto lol.

Right I have had my 10 min sit down after work , off cook the dinner , catch u later xxx

Hello, Im ok, looking forward to the weekend, though not doing anything exciting - maybe going out with my niece but other than that pretty dull. H2B has football all weekend so a quiet one for me. Well Im hoping for a quiet one anyway as Im on call all weekend.

A few people at work think I need to try my dress on again now its been dry cleaned in case it has shrunk, but I dont think dry cleaning would shrink it, do you? I cant try it on myself as its a lace up back.

9 weeks this saturday - hoping for better weather in October than we have been having, Im thinking of getting some funky welly's just in case and not telling anyone until I flash them for the photo's, Ive seen some cool ones with Love hearts on, lol.

Anyone got any plans for weekend? Anyone wanna flash a picture of their dress?

I know what you mean about the weather it has been awful lets hope we have an indian summer eh!

Love the idea about the wellies, I have a pair of leopard print wellies in the garage that I have never worn , would be hilarious with my garter hahaha.

Here is a pic of my dress , the colour is in champagne though and not white like the pic x

Wow you look stunning hon and your dress is lovely , it makes it more real doesnt it when you try it on.

I may have to have altered a little around the bust as I have now lost 22 lbs and thats the first place it goes from lol.

All of our dresses are hanging up in mil house, she has more room then I have here, my house is now bursting out of the seams with wedding paraphanalia I have run out of room in all my cupboards and hiding places lol. Its a good job H2b is looking at everything I buy otherwise I would be stumped.

Can I ask you what colour your bm's are etc?

Gorgeous Colour, My bm's are wearing Chocolate brown, looks lovely with my champagne dress, the guys waistcoats are made to match my dress and they are wearing Chocolate brown cravats.

All my colour scheme is chocolate and champagne even down to my garter lol.

We have silk flowers as its not easy to find those colour flowers and it will be nice for the bm's to have something to keep.

My stepdaughter to be is so excited about her dress that she is going to wear hers for her prom next june bless her.

I must admit trying to source Chocolate Brown accessories etc was quite difficult which surprised me as I thought it was uite a popular colour.

I had quite a search for chocolate brown chair bows , but I have managed to source them at a fab price and will sell them on here once we have finished with them.

I love chocolate brown, lovely colour for autum. My colours are Ivory and Claret throughout. My niece is a flowergirl and cant wait until after the wedding when she can play dress ups as a bride, she also has a coloured bridesmaid dress from another wedding so she can have a bridesmaid too - how sweet, lol. She is 7.

Are you having a big wedding?

    Aww bless her :-)

No just a quiet wedding in a hotel overlooking the beach, just 30 guests for the day and around 100 for the evening. This is both our 2nd marriage, I had 4 ppl at my first wedding and no fuss at all and it lasted just 4 yrs so I am classing this one has my first lol. ( I was young and daft back then)

We are staying in the honeymoon suite for the evening then flying out to Cyprus on the wednesday. We could of flown on the sunday but we both thought it may be to much , want a little time to reflect on the wedding before we have our next adventure lol.

My daughter (12) is one of my bm's she is excited , more excited about the evening do I think though , so she can strut her stuff all night long ( she is at that age now )

Mine isn't much bigger about 40 to the day and 120 to the night do. I think the night do will be a good time when everyone has relaxed after the nerves of ceremony and speeches. Though h2b is also a bit nervous about the first dance. We are having a few lessons (his idea as he didn't want to look silly) that start in september which Im quite looking forward to.

How did you manage to get him to agree to that? My other half wont even contemplate a first dance lol. I have dropped hints and even offered to pay for dancing lessons ( on the quiet ) but he wont have any of it.

He is having nightmares about having to make a speech bless him.

We were not going to have an evening do originally but I managed to persuade H2b that it would be a great idea, nice for other friends and family to celebrate that are not invited during the day and also like you said time to unwind have fun and make the celebrations last longer othwe wise I know what would happen, the wedding would be over and we would come home and it would probably be like any other evening lol.

Hi Girls, well I am feeling really fed up, out of Hospital 3 weeks, had to go back to work this week (as dont get paid when I am off sick!) and today I am back in bed, feeling as bad as when I was taken in to Hospital. H2B wanted me to go back to A&E but no way I am going back!! Forcing myself, lying flat on my back with laptop balanced on my knees to Hitch to keep my mind occupied!

Anyway - wedding - Freckleface we have a couple of coincidences, my Brother is walking me down the aisle too and my BM's are in Choc Brown. What did you do about Shoes for them, I am really struggling to find them?

I know I was shocked too, I just said to him 'I think we should have a practice before the day' and he said ' practice? were getting lessons' - it was as easy as that, lol.

Kell - welcome, the next year will fly by, you have picked a perfect time of year to get married - even thou I say so myself!

Hey hope your ok, I remember reading you had been unwell but dont remeber what was wrong, nothing too serious I hope? Nothing worse than feeling ill, especially when you have loads going on. Hope you are looking after yourself properly - or getting h2b to.

Would cream shoes work for the bridesmaids? If not you can get some brown ones - Im crap with colours and things.

Sorry to hear you are still not well hon, hope you get well real soon.

I had an absolute nightmare trying to buy shoes especially as one of the bridesmaids has huge wide feet and normal shoes dont fit her feet, so I what I did was I managed to find some choclate brown sandal type flip flops that they all fitted into, then when they tried there dresses on the other 2 b,s dresses were far too long I forgot we had the dresses made with 2 inch heels.

The bm with the wider feet, the sandal type things fit fine with the dress and you cant see them so now I have bought my daughter a pair of sandles with heels , you cant see them either and I have said to my sis who is the cheif bm that she can wear what ever she feels comfy in ... you cant see the shoes and I am not gonna stress about anything else , matching etc anymore lol.

No one will see there feet and I would rather they all wore something they are all comfy in as its gonna be a very long day.

What colour is your dress hon ?
