Wedding venue help!! Please :)

We got engaged 1 month ago and it feels like it has been a very stressful month trying to find a venue! I wanted a rustic barn but we have come to realise that with the barn venue hire starting at 5k and then everything on top they are an expensive wedding option! Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for wedding venues that are pretty/relaxed atmosphere and not expensive please? We are looking at London/South West England and we are looking to have 80 guests in June/July 2020.

Many Congratulations to you both!!

We are in a similar situation to you and looking at venues. It is all slightly overwhelming isn't it?

We also had a look at barns and virtually all came with the same outcome. If you are looking for a relaxed day, have you thought about a country pub that holds both the ceremony and reception?

We are looking in Kent so a lot of the country pubs have the exposed beams and hops which is really pretty.

It is something to consider, and we are finding that they are a cheaper than the barn branded wedding venues

We have finally found a venue but love your idea of a country pub!!

I now have another issue that is whether to hire a venue stylist or do a DIY job!

A DIY job would be cheaper but you would definitely need to have a lot of time and patience for this!!

There are gorgeous rustic barns in Sussex that might be worth a look - http://www.fitzleroibarn.co.uk/wedding-venue-prices/ is lovely.

Or there's Bartholomew Barn or The Sussex Barn at Hellingly that might work.

Congrats, not all barn venues have high prices, look for the ones owned by charities.
Bookham Community Association Old Barn Hall is the best value barn hire for your size and area I have seen. I am sure you find the perfect venue.
