Based on what prices were like when we looked into it last March, you're facing a bill in excess of £600. You could do what we did though - find someone who's just starting out and will do it gratis in return for you agreeing to it being used for promotional purposes. We paid travel expenses and the cost price of the blank DVD, all in totalling £70.

Prices will vary enourmously. From probably under £500 for a single camera ceremony only to in excess of £2,000 for all day coverage by the best in the business.

It's important when checking prices to watch out for extras that may be added on top of what looks like a good headline price. They can soon mount up.

If you're having a religious ceremony it's important to make sure that filming will be allowed. We've had a couple of instances (bizarrely both in the Leicester area) where there were major restrictions on where we could film and in one case the bride found out quite late that filming was banned altogether - fortunately ther vicar relented last minute.

What Melancholie suggests is a good idea and that's how we got started in the business (Lucy, Saffron and Rachael - where are you now...?).

But the most important thing is to see examples of their work and make sure you feel comfortable and at ease with them.

? If you're in Glasgow I might be able to help... I'm just getting established so charge at the lower end of the scale ?. I also filmed a few hitcher's weddings for free last year in return for using them as demos so it's always worth asking on here or looking on places like gumtree ?
