Wedding Websites....

Made our own using hosting space I already have, using a combination of Dreamweaver and Notepad (I'm old school and like hand-coding stuff at times!)

www.ajdown.com/wedding if you want to see what we did with ours - obviously this is post wedding but before the big day we had things like maps and timings on there, you might also want to mention gift lists etc.

Mine is on gettingmarried.co.uk i think its great esp since you can add pages and disable ones you dont want its also nice for guests to meet the bridal party beforehand then they know who everyone is and the RSVP will be invaluable good luck mine took about 5 hours to do but well worth it x

Gettingmarried.co.uk is good but hitched have their own version which is entirely free so I am told.

Thanks Tunnut - I think we are happy with it, its nice to get a second opinion before we open it up for all to see as well !

The proposal took me a good couple of months to organise, but was well worth it !!!!!

I'll have to pop up some photos when I can work out how to !!!

Laura, thats really good ! - Wish I had the skills and knowledge to be able to do one of our own like that !!

It's done using wordpress, but he designed it all from scratch. I know that wordpress have different templates already designed that make it easier for non-coders. Why don't you have a look there? You would have to buy your URL from somewhere too. I think we brought ours from 123reg.

Maybe I should get him to start a wedding website business. :-)

My friends and I have used the getting married site. It's really easy to use and so handy. The RSVP one was great for my friends as they are getting married in South Africa and then having a celebration back home. I really like that you can add nearby hotels, etc, for people to stay at plus it even gives you suggestions too. Where we are getting hitched is a bit pricey so I wanted to be sure that everyone could stay nearby. Plus it's a very green way to get information across. We've started using the blog feature and we have friends and family signed up to alerts hehe

I'm thinking of making a wedding website too, just for our abroad guests :-) Will give us a really easy way of telling everyone when anything new happens in the planning.
