Weekend plans?

Erin8, 5 March, 2015 at 15:39 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 27

I am finally off work on Sunday after working 12 days in a row! What are you lot up to this weekend?

We are having some friends round to visit and going out for Sunday lunch. Plus we are hopefully booking our wedding anniversary weekend away.

Saturday will be the usual runaround of taking children to clubs. Little man goes cycling on a Saturday morning and DD2 does baton twirling but other than that it will be fairly quiet I should think.

Sunday we are having at home this week, but I have to run out and collect my mum to take her home from a weekend in Bournemouth. I'm not picking her up from Bournemouth I hasten to add - she's coming halfway home with a friend and then we'll meet her and take her the rest of the way, via a stop at home for a snack I expect!

My parents are coming round Saturday to help us out with some DIY jobs around the flat. Sat night H is DJing, I'm not going this week so it will be an early night with a book! Sunday I dunno...probably nothing much. I am trying to persuade H to stop DJing every Saturday, as it renders him (or both of us if I go too) useless on Sundays. We just sit around complaining about how tired we are and how we can't be bothered to do anything!

Shopping for wool, then spending hours crocheting granny squares, and sewing them together to make a minecraft blanket.

A proper rock n roll weekend here!

Blimey, 12 days in a row, I think I'd fall apart! We're doing nothing this weekend, can't wait! A colleague is leaving tomorrow so its to the pub after work, an H is being picked up at 5am Monday morning to go to India, so nice quite couple of days together will be good.

12 days! I DIE (at the thought)

With the OH being away I set myself a genius keep busy plan of going to ikea, buying Little Man a new bed (one of those high cabin bed thingys), building said bed, and reorganising his entire room. I have no doubts I'll regret this come Saturday, but at least it will keep me busy and stop me wallowing!

Saturday the plan is to laze around. Its been a hectic couple of days here, so i'm just going ot crack on with housework i guess and maybe catch up on a tv show or two

Sunday - i'm in work 9-5 so by the time i get home thats the day gone....so making dinner and then collapsing on the sofa and chilling out i guess.

Its a boring weekend here! (Though, i did go and see Placebo live last night which more than makes up for it)

We are going to London on Saturday to see a matinee performance of the Mousetrap and then for food with a friend.

On Sunday, husband has to work but I have arranged for a friend to come over.

Erin I feel your pain! I did 12 in a row a couple of weeks ago and by the last day I was so tired I could barely see straight!

I'm going to London for the day as my birthday present then spending until Tuesday with lovely family. Can't wait!

We moved in to our new house on Monday so we'll be unpacking boxes mostly!

Although we do have tickets for a comedian (Romesh Ranganathan) on Saturday night, and i'm hoping we can take a break from the boxes to take a dander along the canal on Sunday & try to find some new locals (pub & a cake shop!)

    Ddpunk - he's v.funny, hope it's good.

Helen - enjoy the mousetrap, let us know what you thought.

We are off to the MIL's tomorrow as it's her OH's birthday and I'm having my haircut. That's it!

DDP, at my place? Smiley smile H wanted to go to that but DJing commitments.

(ETA: I dunno why I put that with a question mark. It seems unlikely (although not impossible I s'pose) that he'd be playing two places in one night!)

    It's date weekend!!

We're getting our hair cut and coloured tomorrow so decided to make the most of it. The bar we got engaged in is around the corner from our hairdresser, and we've not been back in since the night we got engaged, so we're going to start in there with some 'secco and then get a cab in to town and do a tour of all our favourite cocktail spots

    I ❤️ Manchester Smiley smile

Pub with OH tonight. Tomorrow 5 of the 7 girls that are coming on my hen weekend are coming to mine for lunch and an afternoon of drinking and girly chat. One of the girls is marrying my cousin next year so I'm sure we'll have plenty of wedding chat.

Sunday, hopefully have a lie in but got loads to do around the house so maybe not. In the afternoon going to a 50th birthday party.

So basically lots of drinking and once again ruining my so called diet!

They were amazing and definitely haven't lost 'it', only thing that was a let down was the very still crowd.

Holey - reporting back on The Mousetrap for you. It was brilliant! We only got there with 10 mins to spare due to someone driving into a bridge on one of the stations into Kings Cross. It was definitely worth the rushing about. Was made even better by me correctly guessing the murderer at the interval. The look on husband's face when it was revealed was priceless - ha ha!

Today my mum brought over a beautiful handmade card she made for H's friend's baby's christening. This was somewhat ruined by me discovering the invitation to said christening when tidying up about an hour before my parents arrived (H hadn't taken it out of the envelope) and spotting immediately that he had told me the child's name wrong. We graciously took the card from my mother bearing the incorrect name and binned it after she left. Argh, I could throttle him. I told him he's charged with buying a replacement card and a present (which I already picked out and sent him the link) but I bet any money he won't do it in time. Men!

    Oh ID, that's infuriating!

I had a great time at ikea with my dad but haven't built the bed because... I can't get it out of the car ? ? seriously, my poor dad is going to have to drive up here at some point this week and lift it out. Until then I'm driving around with flatpack. Ha ha!
