Weekend plans

Cosmopolitan, 27 February, 2009 at 18:58 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 24

Whats everyone up to?

We're having an Indian tonight and lots and lots of lovely wine. No plans for tomorrow, parents coming for lunch on Sunday and then we're off to the Lake DIstrict until Wednesday. I'm stupidly excited as OH booked it all by himself and I've no idea where we are staying! Hes never this romantic, not quite sure whats come over him!

    The street's book group tonight.

Ikea, with a 4 year old 'spirited' boy and a crabby under the weather toddler. On a Saturday.

Followed by the rest of the weekend trying to keep aforementioned children from bothering Father as he builds flat pack items and begins the big chip away of all the plaster under the living room bay window on account of 100 year old damp.

    DOUBLE WOOOHOOOOOOO!

ETA: Sorry! Didn't say how lovely your weekend sounds - have a great time

Sunday, a big breakfast with hangover's a plenty no doubts, so sofa, papers and Hitched!

I've got 5 old uni friends coming to visit over the weekend.

We will mostly be drinking wine, chatting, catching up, oh and having a night out on the lash tomorrow.

I've not seen some of them for 18 months so really looking forward to it.

A quiet evening this evening but then tomorrow it is H's birthday so there will be cards and presents (had the cake tonight ?) then we are off to Andover for the rest of the weekend because H's Christmas present from me was an "Owls by moonlight" evening at the Hawk Conservancy Trust there and we will stay overnight in a hotel and find something nice to do on Sunday. I can't wait, Andover may or may not be very special but getting away for a day or two is!

I shall mostly be in a huge grump. Physio told me today no marathon for me in April - knee is knackered. So I'll be doing a three-hour session on the cross-trainer tomorrow by way of denial. I have already bitten poor loml's head off and cried into my home-made burger mix tonight, so it's possible I may also be getting dumped.

We cooked indian tonight - sag paneer with chapatis. and wine. have choc pud for later, and i want to watch desperate housewives with MrF which will mean convincing him to turn off the rugby, ha.

tomorrow - i have a yoga workshop, MrF is taking cub swimming. and some of our best friends have just moved to brizzle, so we're going to see them in the afternoon / early eve

sunday - i want to learn the route to tilly's so i can drive there on my own next week (woooo!). plus more yoga for me, and a run for MrF and cub.

boring but nice. family time is so rare, i'm really looking forward to everything.

H2B surprised me by giving me some money to go shopping with whilst he goes to the gym. I will be busy doing some lesson planning and seeing my parents for lunch on Sunday. Hoping to get some chill time though as I'm so tired despite it being the first week back after half-term.

Tonight we are relaxing and watching rugby.

The rest of the weekend will mainly be spent clearing out the loft as our house is now up for sale and I seriously need to declutter before we move.

Hope you enjoy your break Cosmopolitan, sounds lovely ?

Wonderstuff, I read your post as "tidying and maybe some shagging" - oops!

Sorry to hear about your knee, Sophie - is it a definite no go for the marathon?

    Aw, thanks <needyattentionseekingicon>

Fizz was pretty definite about it, but there's no need to make a decision now really so I will just soldier on with non-sore cross-training and do the exercises he's given me and hope for a miracle. The weird thing is I have absolutely no sense that here's an excuse not to keep up the exeercise - my motivation is as high as it's ever been, which has to be good.

    Cosmopolitan, your weekend sounds fab.

Sophie its good that you've still got your motivation but don't overdo things as you might make it worse.

I have done one of these and we are members of the trust it is fantastic. The whole place and the work they do. ? Go to stockbridge which is about 10 mins form Andover for a nice meal, and a wander somewhere a bit more pleasant or Winchester is nice and not far away.

    Sophie, hope the knee improves.

I am having a celebratory glass of wine after my last ever call centre shift. I'm not as estatic as I should be, mostly because it has finally hit home that I have a week in which to get a pretty rubbish room into my very own coffee shop <wibble>

Tomorrow is yoga followed by cheap ikea fryup followed by 2 house viewings (one of which we have decided we don't like already).

Tomorrow night better involve chips, wine and mates.

Sunday is church and panicking about the cafe and a nice walk somewhere.

    Sunday is Church

I'm off to my friends hen do in a couple of hours. Have done a few chores but need to start getting ready now. Am not really looking forward to it. I'm not feeling very happy with my appearance recently and the thought of going into a bar thats full of Wags is not filling me with confidence!

Tomorrow I may be joining the hangover club.

Just get really drunk FF and dance really silly. Thats what I do in a cool club and I bet all the wags wish they were having as much fun as you! There are load of bars by me that wags and wannabes frequent and I often think that beneath the make up they're not that pretty. Envious, me?! Yep!!

Today, I am being a wastrel. Had too many cocktails/red wine at Lounge Lover last night, and subsequently didn't go to the gym. Gah. The only productive thing I have done so far is sort some clothes out for the charity shop. Tonight, I have got a couple of dvd's and will curl up with H. I am -again!( I am obsessed with it) making Nigella's red prawn curry. Have nothing nice dessert wise, and H is getting all strident that we can and will do without-pah!

Tomorrow-read papers over a leisurely breakfast (It's part of my Sunday routine and almost set in stone) then off to the gym-that's a definite as H will drop me off on the way to work. He is working all day then straight from there to Aikido, so I have all day and until 9pm at night to myself. After the gym, I may pay a visit to my sis and new baby nephew, go shopping or just do what I do best when left to my own devices-veg aimlessly.

Soph, I am so sorry. I know how much you were looking forward to it. arses.

Today we have painted the hall and damp proofed the porch. I am watching some catch up before making blue cheese and cabbage salad with wine for dinner, then MrH is going out and I am studying.

Tomorrow a dreaded visit to the evils, more painting and revising.

My weekend (which is very nearly over) consisted of me doing the Dubai Dash on Thursday to go and see John Legend at the Dubai Jazz Festival. Great evening, although John lacked oomph, but it just nice to see some live music.

Stayed over in a lovely apartment with friends to celebrate a birthday so treated the birthday girl to a gorgeous meal in a great steak bar at my favourite hotel (Al Qasr) and then slowly meandered our way home today.

I made a pasta dinner and have planned out my meals for the next week as I am on a diet (again)!

After 2 years on the waiting list I signed for my allotment today so that probably covers my weekend plans pretty much indefinitely!

I've struck really lucky as well as it's a small plot so manageable for one person, plus it has a greenhouse and a shed on it. Just hope this mild weather continues..
