Weekend plans thread

Since Chicken seems to be AWOL...

LOML is in Newcastle so I have a solitary weekend planned.

I'm off to the private view of a friend's exhibition on Oxford tonight (much less glam than it sounds!) - will be a bit of a flying visit as I want to get an early night so I can be up early for gym tomorrow. Then farmers' market and goofing off for the rest of the day.

Sunday I will have a long lie-in. I should be doing a long run ut my knee is knackered so it will have ot be a long walk instead - think I will go to Richmond Park or similar. Then laundry, pottering, maybe make pizza for dinner.

What's everyone else up to?

It's my parents' ruby wedding anniversary on Sunday, so I'm mostly gearing up for catering for that. Today will be about experimental starter making as a trial run and finding a present for them. Tomorrow evening, No1 son will be beating seven bells out of other hairy young men with (blunted) swords but that means we get a pleasant evening in a country pub beer garden with friends while he does it ?

Tonight I am catering for some presbyterian ministers. Its my second paid catering gig, and I'm so pleased this is turning into something that I may be able to earn a crust from. Afterward I shall be heading to our wee house to nitromors the stairs while avoiding helping with the rewire. It is a hateful job, and electricians deserve every penny they overcharge IMHO. Pub with ILs after. We have found a way to make living with them work. Hurrah (although am very much looking forward to moving out next month).

Tomorrow I have to go make lunch for the ministers, before heading to a whole day of yoga and drumming. In a yurt. Have no idea what will be involved (iyengar yoga looooons), but it will hopefully be fun and good for me. Maybe dinner out somewhere. The going to feed champagne to a friend who cycled from London to Paris for Christian Aid, followed by a housewarming party.

Sunday equals lie-in, church, and lots and lots of housey things. Going to a friend's in the evening as a reward.

Enjoy your weekend: I love pottering about days.

Saturday nothing planned, although we should probably do some housework after dodging our duties last weekend.

Probably pop over to see my folks briefly as dad has a rare day where he is not involved in some bowls tournament.

Sunday is Carnival del Pueblo (Europe's biggest latin festival dontchaknow) in Burgess park where we will be watching the parade, listening to Argentinian Hip Hop and eating delicious spiced pork and rice from this litlle Colombian chappie we visit each year.

The weather had better behave itself.

I'm going to spend one day (whichever has the worst weather) working on a paper I'm writing. The other will be spent, weather-permitting, having a mooch around various parks and taking photos. Mandatory exercise will no doubt feature at least once over the weekend. As will mandatory wine.

Tonight we are going to watch some unsigned bands playing locally - including the lead singer of a band we've been following for ages (the guitarist is our friend's son - we're not sad old groupies at all. Much ?)

Tomorrow will be chilling out, catching up TV on iplayer and maybe having a clothes sort out.

Sunday we're meeting my mum, granny, brother and niece for lunch. Probably followed by a few beers in the pub and maybe a game of cards.

Sounds like you have a lovely weekend planned Sophie.

I've booked some time off work so I'm finished now till Tues (Yay). I'm going shopping soon and getting my eyebrows threaded, mini facial and then home to drink alcohol - thats a massive plus for me as I'm always having to drink pop on weekends as I'm always teaching in the morning.

Saturday, (weather permitting) I'm going to the Whitacre Horticultural Show. A friend has entered a cake and some art and I want to see the dog and horse shows. Should be good fun. Then I've got Boy in the Striped PJs to watch on the night, possibly with more alcohol and a takeaway.

Sunday I'm meeting up with family for food (and maybe alcohol?) and then on Monday I'm taking my two younger sisters to Drayton Manor Park whilst Mr Nora picks up his new car.

Wow, i think I'll be knackered by the time I go back to work ?

I have a half day today, so I am off shopping later, hurrah!! Then I have dinner with MrG tonight.

Meant to be going to Goodwood races tomorrow, but if the weather continues to be utter crap we're not going. It will be sh1t if it rains all day. I'm reeeeally peed off about it as we go every year and it's such fun. We're meant to be camping over night, not my idea of fun, but it's v cheap & v cheerful with a whole lotta booze and fabulous food which my catering friend organises. If we don't decide to go we're going to take all the food and drink to my friends house for an indoor picnic ? and watch the racing on the TV.

Sunday I am meant to be hosting afternoon tea for MrG's parents <wibble> so can't get too drunk tomorrow. I've got to make scones <wibble> muffins <double wibble>and cup cakes <tripple wibble> His Mum is an amazing hostess and cook, so I know I will *** things up ?

Tonight - out with work colleagues. It may get very messy ?

Tomorrow morning's recovery will be aided by a fry-up. The rest of the weekend is currently unplanned, I'm hoping to spend most of it with my current squeeze providing no spanners are thrown in the works...

Working tonight and tomorrow, both weddings. First wedding is including ceilidh dancing and the second one wants activities in the daytime and karaoke in with the disco at night. I'll be in my element on both occasions as both sound like they will be fun.

It almost feels wrong to be enjoying work so much! (I run on pure adrenelin during the gigs so will probably collapse into an unnecessary heap come Sunday)

Bit of an emotional day tomorrow as we have a friend coming over who is hoping to offer our cat, Poppy, a new home - there's no way we can take her with us to Sydney so we may have to say goodbye to her tomorrow. A pub lunch may help to cushion the blow - or rather the alcohol I'm going to have with it. ☹️

No plans for Sunday other than a 40 minute run with H and a lot of vegging out with the Sunday papers.

We have friends arriving tonight from Surrey for the weekend, so as soon as I get home its change the bedding, quick tidy up and get the wine chilled. Should be a nice weekend of nibbles, booze, eating, catching up and having a laugh. I love having people over to stay!

Tonight i shall be doing house work, although i just feel like going home and going to bed.

tomorrow we're having my 6 yr old cousin for a few hours. My uncle and aunty have just had a new baby and i think could do with a couple of hours peace and quiet, we're going bowling.

Sunday i shall be packing up the house ready to move. Not got a date yet to move but i am hoping that if i start packing stuff up it might spur the solicitors on.

I'm working til 8pm tonight (booo) and I'm already tired so probably just home for dinner then watching something on the laptop before falling asleep.

Tomorrow, tidying my godawful house. I am determined to unpack the last of the boxes from moving in March! Then it's the Riverside Festival here in Nottingham http://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1022 so I'm going to that with my fiance.

I have my children home on Sunday again so it depends on the weather what we end up doing. Hopefully more than just making icecream tub robots and watching CBBC/T4 while it throws it down outside.

All weekend will be spent being impatient about picking up my new engagement ring on Tuesday ?

Tonight, taking it easy with yummy food cooked by MrH and series 3 of the Wire to work through.

Tomorrow, big walk on the beach with the dog (sandals or wellies, dependent on weather) with some friends coming for dinner at night.

Sunday, MrH running a 10k while I do the baby 2 mile fun run at a gorgeous little village. Then eating lots in a fab deli nearby and stocking up at the farmer's market. Chasing calories dontcha know?

Tonight is out to a wonderful local restaurant with some fabby friends we haven't seen for ages and I can't wait!

Tomorrow we are all supposed to be going to Goodwood but if its lashing down we are going to bin that off and head into London village and try and find a nice hotel to stay at and maybe go to the theatre or something.

Sunday is a get together at our house with a couple of families complete with kids and doing a big roast dinner for everyone ( I implied there that I will be cooking. I won't H will be!)

V quiet one for me. Tonight I will be imbibing vino collapso whilst watching the BB Battle of the Giants. Tomorrow my mum is coming to visit and stay over, we're going away together soon so will do a bit of holibob shopping, then tomorrow night we'll get a takeaway, drink more vino collapso and end up crying a lot ?

Sunday, Mr Hole will probs take my mum home and I'm going to persuade him to take us out for lunc afterwards. He will then go off to play cricket whilst I chill out and talk to whoever is on here.

Tonight out for dinner with OH parents which as I am currently dying with a hangover is not particually appealing.

Tomorrow nothing, a pottering day for me.

Sunday: My grandads brothers 70th birthday barbeque, I can't ever actually remember meeting him before but m&d are forcing me to go, deep joy.

Tonight - lots of wine and spagetti and meatballs after little one goes to bed

Tomorrow - waiting in for delivery. If it gets here before lunchtime, nipping into town in afternoon to get some new shoes and clothes. The evening will be spent cleaning our house which hopefully sometime today we will exchange on and completion is due for next week.( Havent heard anything yet which is a tad worrying!)

Sunday - packing for our holiday next week to Cleethorpes along with some sunday dinner in the local pub and trying to calm my 2.5 year old who is dead excited about going to stay in a caravan.

Heres hoping the weather improves for us all!!

Tonight - Cooking lamb curry, drinking two glasses of wine and preparing dive kit for tommorrow, would like more wine but not a good idea the night before diving.

Tommorrow - Teaching SCUBA diving all day, early start at about 4.30am. Good because I've been out of it for so long but bad because it will be a very long day. Get home at about 7pm

Sunday - First family day in about a month. Roast for dinner and maybe a picnic at the cotsworlds wildlife park.

Well I've just made cookies and Honey Spiced cake for tonight as we going to our friends for a BBQ if the rain stays away (not looking too bad at the moment so can we have stay away rain vibes please?) and then playing games once their kids are in bed and staying over for more games and food tomorrow.

Sat evening we'll be back here and vegging and then sunday will probably be laundry day and sorting out the wardrobe in the bedroom before the OH goes raiding in WoW in the evening and I'll be telly watching.

Need to get the paperwork sorted, filled and sent back at some point as well to my new job so I can start a week on monday. Eek ? I have one week left before I start!
