Weekly shop

Becklarrr, 19 November, 2012 at 15:27 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 30

Where do you do it? Tesco/Sainsburys/Morrisons/Asda? And do you go to the actual shop or do you have it delivered?

I am very lazy and have it delivered, I just can't stand queuing and going shopping on my weekend so just get it delivered at home and then can spend time cleaning or whatever at home ?

We shop at Morrisons, we've been through all the others and liked this the best. I love the fresh veg section, there's so much choice. I like wandering round the supermarket (I'm a student so can go off-peak, when I was working normal hours I hated it being busy..). I also always use the layout of the store to remind me what to get, I think I'd get confused online!

Used to shop at Tesco but I'm now a Lidl convert. We seem tohave reduced our weekly shop from £80 pw to around £50 pw. Fresh produce is fab, meat is fab, their own brands are fab. I only go to the big ones now for stuff I can't get at Lidl. I do miss my clubcard vouchers though!

Morrisons for me as it's about a 2 minute drive. I tend to go in the evening as it gets super busy at weekends and hate the stress of finding a parking space!

Mainly Tescos but will go to any of the main ones, just depends where we are at the time, and where the deals are on for the stuff I need. Never had a deliver, but I like to pick my own fruit, veg and especially my meat.... fussy bugg£r over!!

We go to Tesco because of the clubcard, which we love. We also go to Waitrose sometimes if we are feeling flush and want to treat ourselves to nice things. We almost always shop instore unless we are away for the weekend, in which case delivery comes in handy. We always go shopping on a Friday night. I am aware this makes me sound as if I have no life but h2b and I hate crowded supermarkets and friday night always seems to be really quiet.

Ideally Tesco in person (although that person is often MrBBB if I'm working shifts) since they have a better range. There's a big Sainsburys slightly closer (Tesco is 25 mins away, Sainsburys maybe 20) but parking there is horrible. If we're generally disorganised, it's the small Sainsburys in our nearest town 10 miles away, or the little Co-Op in the village 4miles away. We used to be very organised living out in sticksville, but it's a bit haphazard at the moment!

I would get things delivered if I could guarantee all the items would get here with no substitutions!

It really depends what we're in the mood for. Yesterday it was Morrisons. Next week, who knows?! We're spontaneous like that, you see.

Morrisons for the big shop. Top up shops in Co-op because it's within walking distance. Nearest Tesco is about an hour away.

Nowhere in my area does online delivery otherwise I'd definitely take it up, especially at this time of year where I barely have time to sit down in the evenings/weekends because of rehearsals.

We do most of our shopping online at Sainsburys. We don't have a car so it's hard to do a big shopping when walking back with the bags. I prefer to do a big shop once a week as it saves so much time and money. Occasionally substitutions are annoying but you can reject them if they aren't right and in my opinion it's no different than if you go to the shop and the item you want is sold out. I also like that they can take away any plastic carrier bags for recycling.

If we had a car we'd shop more at Aldis/Lidl but they are just too far for us to walk.

I dont do weekly shop. I buy bits every few days or as and when we need it. I found with a weekly shop, some of it didnt get eaten if we didnt want it and there was more waste.

We used to be Tesco people but have been moving towards Morrisons. Our morrisons is quite small, but good for fish, meat, fruit, veg, and all things fresh. Still like Tesco for household stuff like cleaners, binbags, etc. though as it's much cheaper than our Morrisons for exactly the same brand.

Currently shop at Morrisons as its literally 2 seconds from my house, when we move I will probably go back to Asda, I find Tesco expensive...

I hate shopping and have been known to do online shopping but where we live its a nightmare as in a flat it all has to be lugged upstairs so I only have it delivered when OH is home!

We shop mainly at Sainsburys but are recent Aldi converts. Also discovered a home bargains type shop with massive Tetley's tea bags etc for 99p so got essentials there this weekend. I usually do our shopping bit by bit throughout the week, but recently have started getting OH to help me with it on Sundays.

Normally Sainsburys after work on a Tuesday, it's really quiet and only takes me about 45mins. And then it's only 5 miles home!

When we move I'll be 25 miles away from work, our nearest supermarket to home will be Tesco or Lidl. I refuse to shop regularly in Tesco so might convert to delivery for the main things and head to the little high street market on a Saturday for fresh stuff.

I need to get better at planning really.

We shop at Morrisons, Asda and Aldi. We do "top up" shops at the Co-op, as it's just around the corner.
