Weight loss newbie needs new clothes!

sckcb, 15 August, 2009 at 16:17 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 1

Hello!

I'm a newbie so please be nice!

I'm currently a size 12-14 and would like to be a size 10 by the start of November. I'm about one a half stone overweight. Having never been bothered about my weight before I have absolutely no idea if this is realistic so can anyone advise please?

I am already reasonably active but I plan to up my seriously up my activity levels to loose the weight. I don't really plan to change my diet that much as it's already okish (apart from my sweet tooth!) and I've tried dieting over the last couple of weeks and it made me obsessed and miserable and I doubt I'd be able to stick to it. I also got very little results.

So what do you think? Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Also, can anyone suggest a good place to get gym clothing please? I'm short and a pear shape and it seems that comfortable, flattering and affordable gym bottoms don't exist for people like me!

Thank you.

A sensible rate of weight loss is generally 1-2lb a week so I'd say you were looking at a minimum of 10 weeks to get to where you want to be and possibly a bit longer. But it should just about be achieveable by the beginning of Nov if you can stick to it.

I don't really go for diets as such, just being more careful with my eating and exercising more,so to me your plan sounds sensible, I'd just try and limit sweet things and alcohol to occasional treats. It does work for me, but it's hard going at times not to just give in to temptation and to motivate myself to go to the gym when I'm tired.

I just got some gym stuff from M&S as I didn't want anything too expensive.

Good luck with it, let us know how you get on.

Thank you. Unfortunately I have brokwn my leg so won't be doing it after all. Ironically I broke my leg on the way to the gym.
