weight meltdown!!

Kadence, 22 July, 2012 at 23:36 Posted on Planning 0 15

Feeling really anxious and stressed today that I have not lost any weight for my wedding in 8 Weeks time! God knows why I have not kicked myself into touch, girls holidays, being a BM...ive always been so strict with a diet! For some reason I just cant get motivated for the biggest day of my life- what is wrong with me ?! I feel like I need to go on a crash diet of some sort so I feel my best, when im about a stone and a half lighter. (im 5'10 so thats not loads for me) Did anyone else feel like this??

My Sister did similar, she messed about and didn't get on track, in fact I lost more for her wedding than she did! She did regret not giving it a better shot to be honest, but her H said he proposed when she was big and it didn't make any difference to him. You could actually lose quite a bit in 8 weeks, and it might make you feel better if you could lose a few pounds.

Honestly? I feel exactly the same as you except the problem for me is that I eat when I'm stressed, and boy am I stressed at the mo!!

I could not get motivated to lose weight (I'm a size 12/14) and decided that as I yo yo so much and always end up where I am now that I will not worry about it.

Try not to stress about it, you will look amazing on the day regardless

I'm getting married in December and I've been messing around with dieting since we got engaged last August. I lose a few pounds and then put it on. I now really really need to sort it out or my dress won't fit and I don't want to feel crap on our big day. I'm now on school holidays for 6 weeks so am planning on spending lots of time inthe gym to hopefully give it a kick start.

If you really go for it you could lose a fair bit in 8 weeks.

    Rach xx

Please don't do this! Crash diets will mean you're not getting all the nutrition your body needs, you may lose weight but your hair and skin won't be at their best and you're likely to feel tired or lethargic. Is it worth feeling like that on your wedding day just to shift a few pounds? In honesty, you're likely to shift just as much in the next 8 weeks by eating a bit more healthily and upping your exercise. 1/5-2 pounds a week will still be about a stone off.

I didn't lose as much as I would have liked before my wedding either but towards the end I took the view that I'd rather look happy than thin on my pictures Smiley smile

I agree with BV. Crash dieting will most likely make you feel worse and you don't need any extra stress in the last few weeks. Most people end up putting the weight back on as soon as they stop crash dieting anyway.

Take time to sit down and plan meals for the week ahead, add in some exercise and you should lose 1-2 pounds a week if you really want to. Does your dress fit ok just now?

    Hi

I got engaged in April, I have booked my wedding for October next year and already I keep telling myself every week that I'll start my diet (I'm a size 20 and would love to go down a lot before my wedding!) and I'm good all week then at the W/E all my hard work goes to pot. I can't seem to motivate myself either!

I've been doing WW for a year and lost 3 dress sizes so it's going to take some time. I know exactly how you feel!

Honestly? Don't crash diet. And losing a stone and a half in the time you have left sounds like madness and will most likely end up making you feel complete sh1te on your big day. If you want to step up the exercise and healthy eating to feel good then that's fair enough, but I would set yourself a more realistic goal rather than stressing over trying to lose so much. If that's you in your prof pic you def don't look like you could stand to lose that much! I aimed to lose a pound a week for 12 weeks but for me it wasn't feasible, however I did lose something so feel better about myself. Try the 30 day shred or no more trouble zones DVDs, worked wonders for toning!

I am exactly the same. Constantly worrying about losing weight but then not doing anything about it!

I'm going to be starting Slimming World again this week, to see if I can shift some.

To the OP, be careful with crash diets - as other people have said, wouldn't you rather be happy on your big day rather than unhappy and thin?

I am another one! I kept beating myself up all the time and one day I decided that I had enough and was going to stop, just try and relax a bit and just eat less!! So far this seems to be working, if I have some crisps then I just work a little harder when I exercise.

I know how you feel - I have 5 weeks to go and have only really started about a week ago to try and lose some weight. I couldn't really get motivated before as I'm already a healthy weight, so it's just vanity pounds that I want to lose.

You can do a lot in 8 weeks though. Like the others have said, crash dieting is a bad idea, But if you eat healthily and exercise 4 to 6 times a week you should see plenty of difference in that time. I'm a big fan of any of the Jillian Michaels workouts - you really do notice results in a week if your commit to it. Plus, it's only about half an hour a day (of intense exercise mind you!), so there is no excuse really not to find the time!

Well 2 to 3 pounds a week is healthy weight loss, so you have 8 weeks which is time to lose a sizeable chunk. Some people swear by the 30 day shred. Might be just as easy and far healthier to just cut some calories each day and increase exercise. I need to lose some weight by end autumn and I'm struggling to get started.... It's only quorum 5 or 6 pounds and I figure I have plenty of time, which somehow stops me getting going. Fingers crossed the warm weather kick starts me eating a bit less, since I always lose my appetite a bit in the heat. I'm also trying to focus on inches rather than weight. For the dress to fit, I figure that's mo important anyway! Good luck!

The best thing you can do is start toning. Every morning & every evening just do 10-20 sit ups, plank, side plank etc. This will pull you in & change your shape. Don't crash diet because you run the risk of making yourself ill. Just stop eating processed food & stop drinking alcohol. Try not to let it stress you out too much, remember if you lose too much weight after your last dress fitting then it won't fit properly on the day xxx

Bloody hell! A stone a month!

Feeling better today, just having small healthy meals, often, and trying to get some exercise in. I figure I can easily lose 2lbs a week, that will be a stone off and I will feel loads better.

Yeah that's me in the profile pic, I was about 10lbs lighter when I put it on about a year ago though! Have done the reverse of what I should have...?

Don't worry you'll get there just try not to beat yourself up. Remember, no matter what happens you'll be the belle of the ball on your wedding day and will feel like a princess in the dress :-) xxx
