Weird food

MummyMoo82, 23 January, 2013 at 21:52 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 58

Inspired by sandwich thread, what weird food do you like?

When I was little I liked marmalade amd cheese slices on toast, and only ate cereal with orange juice on it as I hated milk.

my 'go-to" food when I am slobbish is what I call 'snoodles'. This is chicken super noodles, with mayo, cheese and spring onion stirred in. Best if served with baked beans and a slice of bread on the side. Not had it for a few years, but been craving it lately.

Ham and nutella sandwiches. Not too much nutella, but enough to get that 'sweet/saoruy' thing.

Chips and custard. They've got to be nice crispy oven chips though not soggy or fried ones.

    I'm a wrong'un, I know. I haven't even told H about this one ?

Matzoh in a cereal bowl filled with coffee, as in cereal, with the coffee a substitute for milk.

Except nobody here with know what matzoh is , apart from little Peanut...

Also, brought on on roll-mops, smoked herrings, taramasalata (sp?) saurkraut, falafel, etc

and my nana used to feed us tongue *shudders*

I know matzoh! My childhood best friend was Jewish so I was "treated" to a lot of matzoh over Pesach.

Pizza and gravy is the best.

Love a good mashed potato sarnie, carb heaven! Even better with beans on.

Chips dipped in pink milk is yummy, quite normal though I think.

Slice of buttered bread on a plate, chippies on top, 'chicken' pot noodle over the whole lot.. Ta-da, I give you "Pot Noodle Surprise" - The surprise being the soggy bread that we find at the bottom, amazing! My Sister and I used to make this when we were kids when our Mum was called out on a firecall.. We still love it. We're disgusting.

    You lot are strange!!

I used to think my chunks of cheese with marmite on was weird but that is quite popular now!. I had a flat mate that would eat pringles with squares of dairy milk on. She said she loved tht salt with the chocolate which i always thought was weird but ive recently had sea salt dark chocolate which is lush!

Ooh either matzoh or rice crackerbread (do they still do that) with slightly salted lurpack and marmite.

I was also brought up having croissants with a little bit of butter and marmite on the side. Ddn't realise croissants and marmite was weird and unusual until I went to university. Still love it now.

I used to eat bonio dog biscuits! There was a big bag in the back of our car for the dogs and my brother and I used to try them. My mum went mental. Every time!

Chips and custard is yum Arquard!

I used to have cheese, tuna, mayo and peanut butter sandwiches. My dad reminded me of this a few months ago...I tried it again. Totally delish!
OH thinks I am off because I eat cheese with my hot cross buns. I also used to take cold baked bean sandwiches to school. Mmmm.
I am pretty grim with food though, I will try anything together if it takes my fancy!

Some kids I used to Nanny used to eat gravy bones! They'd hatch a plan to sneak into the kitchen to steal them from the dog's bowl. If I was going to steal something from the kitchen it'd be chocolate! I told their Mum and she was completely unfazed, said they'd been doing it years.

Haha bumblebrat it was just the plain ones they tasted like those cracker breads you get. Quite tasty. My dad didn't bother (in fact I'm pretty sure he fed them to us!) but my mum went mental at him/us when she caught us.

I also used to eat butter....handfuls of the stuff. Used to go to the fridge and scoop out a handful of butter. My mother was horrified and took me to the doctors. - he said it was fine and wouldn't do me any harm. I continued to do it until one day I did it to the lard by accident. My mother made me eat it. ? [:'(] Never did it again!

I've never gone that extreme, but eating dairy milk and ready salted crisps together is amazing. Literally put them in your mouth at the same time, heaven!

Oh and this reminds me, I used to get a bit of butter, roll it in a ball, cover it in sugar and eat that.

And I used to eat ketchup sandwiches, but only when I got in after a night out.

I have loads of weird ones!
