And I got the job! Woo hoo! Well....subject to references and for my part, if they will pay what I am asking. This should all be clearer within the next few days. It was just so unexpected and affirming to be told afterwards they would like me on board, and to get positive feed back in person. It's not my dream job, but it's closer to home and will be within a different team which is good for the old CV. I have another interview on Wednesday afternoon, for a similar post to the one I am in now, within a better borough, so I am still going along to that.
I am a happy bunny.
I went to the second interview yesterday, and the Group Manager contacted me this afternoon to say they would like to offer the post to me. It's been a busy but positive week, and my head is spinning with trying to the pros and cons of both contracts. Usually, I am intuitive/instinctive.....feck, impulsive if truth be known, but I can't decide! Both management positions, both busy/stressful environments, one a beacon council, the other struggling but closer to home- and a different experience managerially which would be good for my cv, the aforementioned beacon council resource rich....both offering to pay me what I have asked for.
My H thinks I should opt for the sinking borough "things can't get any worse....the only way is up"! and because it's closer to home (within an hr each way) where my current commute adds 4 hrs to my day, and the beacon borough would add 3. I just don't know.
Gah!
