We've booked our honeymoon....

tinkissarah, 10 April, 2011 at 13:42 Posted on Planning 0 14

.....and I'm so excited even though it's not until next December!

Me and my H2B were in town buying his niece a birthday present yesterday when we walked passed the travel agents and saw that the 2012 P&O Caribbean Cruises had just gone on sale. We popped in thinking we would just see what sort of price we'd be looking at but OH had other ideas and it's now all booked.

We fly to Barbados and then cruise around the Caribbean for 14 nights going to Antigua, St Maarten, St Vincent, Grenada, Back to Barbados (as soon as we land we have to go to the ship and board so the cruise goes back so we get to spend the day there), St Kitts, Tortola, Dominica and St Lucia. I can't wait ?

Where is everybody else going on their honeymoons?

Hi KBS, you're my date twin aren't you? How's the planning going?

We're so excited, it's something we've both always wanted to do. We're not normally so spontaneous though.

I've never been to Dominican Republic but my friend has been going every year since she was about 14 and she loves it.

    Here's a few pics......

    Sorry if they are huge!

Planning going really well, just need to book and pay deposits on my dress, HM and rings and then its just buying all the little bits and paying off balances for the rest of the time Smiley smile

Wow that looks fab, I always associated cruises with grannies but how wrong was I?! I wanna go on one now! We are spending our honeymoon in New York in October, I've always wanted to go since I was young so I can't wait!

    Thanks ? I can't stop grinning.

Wow you seem much more organised than me. I have all the main bits done but am still unsure when I want to start looking at dresses etc. I've found a few styles I like but haven't been actual shopping yet. Think I'll look towards the end of the summer. We have the church booked, the reception venue (including food etc) booked, photographer booked and honeymoon booked. I've also bought save the date magnets, my table name picture frames and some jars for the sweetie table we're doing and that's all so far. I'd sort of stopped looking at wedding related stuff until yesterday but booking the HM got me all excited again.

To be honest, we had as well but it seemed really relaxing. When we looked into it a bit more it's definitely not like we first imagined. The ship has a casino and a night club. And it's massive!

I really want to go to New York. We considered it but think we'll do that another time as fancied some winter sunshine.

We haven't booked anything yet but we have been thinking about where we'd like to go. We both fancy going to the Ice Hotel in Sweden and seeing the Northern lights, maybe doing a husky tour and trying a little ski-ing... plus see some more of Sweden. I'll be very excited when we come to book it. Neither of us are sit in the sun kind of people, but the cruise sounds fantastic. You'll have an amazing time!

We booked through Thomas Cook. Depending on which type of room you book you also get onboard credit so when we go we already have £180 to spend on board on anything we like. Drinks, excursions, in the shops etc. And we got a saving of about £600 for booking early.

    Very jealous!

My dad has been to all of those places on Royal Carribean and his top tip would be - look out for gold on St Maarten, and when you go to Dominica - the jungle tour is amazing, but be careful what you wear, he bent over a waterfall and lost his very expensive sunglasses down the waterfall - stupid man!

Our honeymoon is going to be Mexico - so a little different, but cool!
