What are you all doing for Hogmanay???

pink & glitz, 28 December, 2014 at 18:17 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 15

I use to hate New Year before I met my husband as it was never something I celebrated. So this year we are going to a party. In 2015 I can say I got married last year and I am going on honeymoon.

What about you?? X

H2B is DJing so I'll go out with him if I feel well enough. I thought I'd shaken off the flu but I feel worse again today, so we'll see. If I don't go then it'll be an early night with a hot water bottle!

I've been even more disorganised than I usually am and as such have nothing planned... Oops.

Not sure what to do. Can't decide whether to traipse in to Central London or stay nearer to home. Am going to parents on NYD so don't want to be too hungover to function either.

Might just do a meal and a few drinks at home.... If I can get a decent restaurant reservation!!

I am a bridesmaid (matron of honour actually) on the 30th, so we're planning to just have a nice meal at home. I will be sad to see this year go, I got engaged, married, and will be a bridesmaid for the first time too, I shall always have a special place in my heart for 2014

Hubby is working nights so it's a quiet one for me at my friend's house. She's got her daughter so we'll no doubt just drink wine and watch SATC!

We've got no plans as yet, i'd love something to do but it isn't looking likely. No one in our circles seems to be bothering this year ☹️

We're up north for OHs dads birthday, think they're doing an open house/food/drinks at theirs. Sadly after the Christmas I just had with them, at this moment in time im not particularly looking forward to it. Least Ive got a couple more days to forgive and forget haha!

Last year we had a tasting menu dinner with a couple of friends and that was really good, the few years before that though we didnt do much, had a nice dinner at home and watched a bit of telly!

Think we are going to friends for drinks and nibbles and will then stay over. Not too raucous as one of the group is pregnant. Always find New Year a bit of an anti climax.

We'll be at home with the youngest two children. All the older ones are off out to parties of their own and, to be honest, I'll be quite happy to have a quiet evening in!! I'm not much of a party animal these days!

We're going to dinner at BIL and SILs, it'll be the four of us plus my other BIL. Really happy that it's just family! Can't remember what we're having for main but we're starting with mac n' cheese with lobster and I'm making the Nigella Lawson Guinness cake for dessert. Gonna serve that warm with ice cream, without the cream cheese frosting. Really looking forward to seeing this year out!

We've rented a cottage in the Peak District for three days with a bunch of friends from uni. Can't be doing with going out for NYE, too busy and noisy!

We are going down to Bristol to a mad hatters tea party in one of the hotels. Can't wait! I've got a VoH dress and two petticoats to wear!

We're going to a friends for dinner on NYE. We are taking a course each so I'm doing soup. I haven't quite figured out how I can get it over to her house yet without sloshing it everywhere so I may have to give it to H to hold while I am driving!

TBH I'd be happy to do nothing and go to bed before midnight. I feel that there is massive pressure to have a brilliant night and I always feel that it is an anti-climax.

My OH works in a fancy hotel & spa as a cocktail barman, so he's been working like crazy over December! I won't see him tomorrow apart from when I get up for work, then not again until about 5am on the 1st.

I really hate that industry at this time of year Smiley sad

We were meant to be going to London to a friends house party. Mr Kevin is ill with a cold so l don't think we are now doing much. I have bought a yummy steak pie from the posh butchers near us and bought some Bailey's to guzzle

Just found out I have to work new years day, so I think it's the early night for me! Last year our neighbours had a party and people were coming in and out and talking loudly in the hall til about 5am, so I suspect it may be the same situation again. Oh well.
