What are you all doing today?

HeidiHole, 8 February, 2009 at 09:06 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 56

We off to look at tiles <I know, I know, calm down!> We can't really justify a new kitchen at the moment, so have decided to get rid of the scabby tiles that are there and jazz it up with new ones. If I'm really lucky, I'll get to go to B&Q to look at metal plug sockets too! You want to be me don't you, admit it?

I've just told Wizzy where we're going in a really excited happy voice, she's now running around shouting "washed and dressed, get washed and dressed", I fear she's going to end up very disappointed ?

We have the MIL and her partner coming over for morning tea at 11am. Apparantly it's been planned for ages, but I was only told about it in Tesco yesterday when eyeing up the pastries.

After that, we shall probably do some boxing up of household stuff for moving. If my husband gets his stinky arse out of his dressing gown.

It's a friends birthday, so we're going to go over to see her for a bit later

and we'll probably pop over to a neighbours to see how he's doing - he got mugged on his doorstep last night, we ended up getting involved and looking after him till we could get hold of his girlfriend and she got home (about 3am)

I've got to go to Wigan later, for MiL's birthay meal. Groomzilla has organised it so that's why it's in Wigan and not in Liverpool where MiL is, it's also unbelivably complicated because of Groomzilla when it doesn't need to be. I really don't want to go but can't get out of it. ☹️

I've got a yoga class in an hour then after that I'm going to drag the rest of the family out for a walk. We've spent far too long inside this week due to illness so we're going to go out and brave the ice.

Then I'll be making a stirfry and doing the ironing later.

I'm going to nurse my hangover for a little bit longer, then I'm going to the Dogs home. Mr Nora thinks we're just going for a look. We're not going to get a dog, oh no sireee ?

I see your tiles HH and I raise you cleaning two bathrooms, going to Tescos to do shopping for ourselves and for my mum, mopping all the laminate floors downstairs that are covered in mud from kids and dog trailing filthy snow in and decluttering our bedroom. Life's just full of excitement eh?

The place is still covered in snow and ice, so I'll see if the buses are running again yet and maybe nip into town. Saving my knees for the walk to work tomorrow as more snow is forecast so deffo no buses then. Considered digging the car out as we need to go shopping, but might order online instead.

Apart from that, I'm studying. Bah.

Oh and going over to my Mum's later for homemade pizza.

Well I'm going to do some washing, and perhaps look at what colour to paint our kitchen. I reall want to tile it too as we're planning on putting some new cupboards in and new worktop, our tiles are so crappy I want nice ones. Actually I want the old Kitchen I had in my first flat it's walls were sunshine yellow, with blue tiles and yellow grout, it was fab.

I have no idea what we're doing with this one, I just hate hate hate the tiles, they're just meh!

I was supposed to be at archery 5 mins ago but I'm sitting here still in my nightie and dressing gown. I didn't sleep very well last night ☹️

We might brave the roads later and go get bits for a set of shelves we moved yesterday and also to ASDA for stuff to go with roast chicken. I might also put more books on to the online library, if I can be bothered.

    sigh

    J

See my other thread. He rang at about 12am and woke me up to tell me about his wallet and I didn't get to sleep until about 4am. I know it's not really his fault but he was a bit drunk and on his own, insisting he was going to hunt his wallet down and he's somewhere he isn't familiar with so I was worried about him. I also had my sisters staying so was trying to sort it out as they slept beside me and then they woke up early this morning. H's really laid back as well and sometimes I feel like he's happy enough to let me know these things knowing I'll run about like a headless chicken trying to sort him out as I'm such a worrier while he wanders about aimlessly awaiting my response.

That's probably unfair but it seems like everytime he goes away without me I have no peace because something goes wrong or at the very least get late night texts/phonecalls to tell me how much he's missing me and I won't keep my phone off in case there's an emergency.

    And breathe.

(You are wishing you hadn't asked Doughnut aren't you ?)

I was just going to ask the same thing...

We ought to have all been going to my daughter's birthday party but since she was sick in the most spectacular fashion last night, we've had to postpone it. ☹️ She's asleep next to me on the sofa at the moment, and I suspect a lot of the day will be spent that way. (I was going to join in the norking, but having read the whole thread I think my efforts would be rather weak in comparison to our reigning champion Mrs Magic)

I'm shopping in a few minutes (at the moment trying to find some easy recipes for H to cook as I've got a busy week ahead after all the snow days).

This afternoon I'm going to drag my son along to see The Secret Of Moonacre (as I loved The Little White Horse so much when I was a child) whilst H is watching the football.

Nice tiles make such a difference in a kitchen, to make it more exciting for Wizzy, why don't you let her choose them?

MrPod is working, again. So it's me and the hound today, we've just been for a long walk and he is currently snoring beside me while I read the papers. We're going out for dinner tonight which I'm looking forward to.

Going to my Mum's for lunch. I rather stupidly let slip that MrS was away today and she promptly invited me and the sprogs over for lunch "so we wouldn't be on our own"! Mmmmm, looking forward to a lunch of miniscule portions of cremated meat of some description, over cooked, yellowing broccoli/greens and mushy potatoes etc, you get the picture? ? No pudding either as obviously I must be on a diet (according to her ?)

Sorting out the spare room, shoving things in charity bags, deciding on who gets the freecycled stuff, waiting in for freecycle people, having a go at the next chapter in my OU book, doing some washing, pissing about on t'internet, cooking Prue Leith's family Beef Stew. Mr L has gone to B&Q and will do some little householdy jobs when he gets back, and then he'll do the ironing. (Result!) Oh and organising the junk that came out of the old bedroom furniture/spare room into lovely boxes ("storage solutions") in the new, fabby, big wardrobes.

I do love "storage solutions" but somehow they don't seem to solve my endless junk problems. Do they work for ANYONE??

I think the next lot of snow is overnight tomorrow, so tuesday morning may be challenging again. We've made a list for an online shop but neither Asda or Tesco have a slot until tuesday. Actually, Asda now does't have anything until Wednesay. And that's assuming they can get their truck up here! Our local tesco is out of bread and milk because they didn't get their delivery.

Today I am going to try and clear my study floor of all the craft stuff scattered around it! Then tonight I can either make another bag (big girl has asked for one of her own) or a matching purse for the first one. I have a sewing bug at the moment!

I'm just outside Bristol - Chipping Sodbury/Yate but if anyone asks I say Bristol (otherwise I get "where???").

Used to live in the centre of Bristol, I love it!!

I noticed there seems to be a large Bristol kleek - it's the place to be!?
