What are you doing for your hen party?!

thewanderingwebster, 13 March, 2014 at 15:50 Posted on Planning 0 32

I love the idea of going tank driving but it's £40 per person which I think is a bit much. I don't want people to end up having to spend lots.

What are you doing?!

    Current plan is 2 part:

    1. Musical followed by dinner - civilised so that both mums can come along

    2. Holiday - hopefully at a friend's parents' villa in Spain for a week, but if that doesn't work out I will probably just request a weekend break somewhere with a spa

Nothing for me either. I don't like a fuss. H2B and I are planning to agree on a fake wedding date a few months later than our actual one so as to deter people from trying to plan hen/stag dos for us.

Glad I'm not the only one! People have been looking at me like I've got 2 heads when I say I'm not having one!! Not my thing at all, and tbh, I'm ready for bed after a couple of drinks anyways! That's what having children does to you!!

I don't think £40 each is a lot at all! Unless your friends are super skint and besides how much could you end up spending if you went out for dinner and drinks?

I'm planning on having a Spa Day at about £70 per person.

Yeah, I haven't had it so much - I don't have a lot of close female friends - but H2B has already had several people ask about his stag do. We don't have kids but we're exactly the same - not big drinkers and we mainly like to stay in. We joked when booking the wedding that we would be "home in time for Pointless" Smiley smile

Suits both sides of my personality perfectly Smiley winking We wasnt going to bother but all our friends wanted to do something and its a perfect excuse for a get to gether

No idea! The girls are organising it all through a facebook group to which I am not allowed access ️ I have given them some boundaries i.e. no fancy dress and no leaving the country, but apart from that I've given them free rein - goodness only knows what they'll come up with - some of them have rather wicked senses of humour ?

We have a package deal which is about £97 each and includes a cocktail making class, a 3 course meal, entry to a nightclub and accommodation in a 3* hotel in Nottingham Smiley smile

    Hmmm some interesting plans!

We also have two young children so I'm kind of thinking a day without having to be 'mum' would be quite nice. Originally we weren't going to bother but OH would quite like a stag do.

I think the other thing is that family politics come into play and there are certain members that I'm not that enthusiastic about!

I might be boring and just have a day to myself! It's been quite a while since I had a day of relaxtion!

Nothing- most my family live all over the UK im in northants and my family live in wales, newcastle. Too expensive for them to travel down for a hen party and for the wedding. Thought of maybe a spa overnight stay for my local family but at £99 pp for the local spa I think thats expensive. Im not a big drinker anyways so im not really too bothered Smiley smile

In May I'm off to a cottage near Barnard Castle for the weekend, got a half day spa day on the Saturday, otherwise going to go on a few little adventures and bike rides/treks with my 3 best friends (the bridesmaids).

In July 2 weeks before the wedding I'm off to a ceramic study and having a pottery painting party with refreshments and then in the evening off to have a glorious curry ?. This one has my bridesmaids, mum, MiLtb, SiLs, SiLtbs and a few other friends coming.

No idea yet! My Mum and one of my BM's are planning it. All I know is that it's on August 9th, just have to turn up. I did request that it didn't cost too much money for people attending.

Hoping to go to london next March. My bmaids are organising it, I'm concerned haha. One is a major stress head and the other is so unorganised (I fear they may kill each other)

ive asked that it isn't too expensive and I'm happy to do tourist things, I'd like to visit Camden market and perhaps a burlesque bar. Mostly I'd just like a nice time away with a few friends.

If you were thinking of heading to Camden market for your hen, try and book in at Proud Gallery (it pops up on Groupon London a lot), they do Burlesque and dinner deals on a Friday and it's in the middle of Camden Lock market.

    I'm having 2!!

I got a free spa & overnight stay for 6 when we booked the wedding at the hotel, so I am having that for my nearest and dearest.

Then, with everyone, I am having some kind of night out. I have no idea of who is planning that or what is going to happen, but I have stipulated that it is local and that there are NO strippers. (My friends got me a stripper for my 30th and it was awful, he was really short and skinny, I am really tall and fat. I felt like a right numpty!)

I have a group of around 20 of us (including both mums- I was originally unsure about it) we are doing a burlesque and vintage cocktail making class, then a night out. Its a 1920's Great Gatsby theme. Its on the 12th of April, coming up fast. Sounds like everyone is having some fun ideas Smiley smile tank driving sounds like so much fun!

I am going for a meal at a local pub, then home for chill time and catch up with my closest friends with a bottle of something. The next day 3 of the 12 of us are going to a spa for recovery time before lunch and home. I'd have loved a weekend in London or at the formula 1, but I am the only one of the 12 without a family and we are all pretty stretched financially so just not practical.

It sounds like fun for a lot of you lovely ladies though:-)

    Mine is this weekend, soo...

Turkish baths with bridesmaids on Friday and some bubbly/dinner at mine in the evening

Afternoon tea in London on Saturday, then everyone back to mine for a cocktail/pizza party.

Brunch at local cafe the next day for anyone who can manage it ?

I didn't want to ask my friends to spend too much money, so everything was optional, the afternoon tea is only £25 with some champers and obviously make your own cocktails is a lot cheaper than going out!

We are meant to be going to Brighton for the weekend. A few drinks on the Friday night. Saturday is afternoon tea, shopping, then dinner, drinks and a club. Sunday will be recovering and travelling home.

My sister in laws we went to Dublin! Was fun....but I guess it depends on how many people you want to go and its nice to consider the budget as these things seem to go a little overboard sometimes!

Not sure yet, I don't drink and hate clubs etc. I like the idea of just going a local theme park and having a picnic and a laugh.
