What are you doing the day BEFORE the wedding?

ClaireD*, 28 April, 2014 at 20:35 Posted on Planning 0 31

I ask because I am in a slight panic. I've added up some numbers, and realised that I've told more than 15 people to 'drop by' for a drink or whatever, the day before. Eeeeekkkk! I probably shouldn't have done that, and will probably live to MAJORLY regret it.

What SHOULD I be doing instead, on the day before? What are you doing?

I'm thinking that getting my nails done is one biggy that I'd forgotten about....

I would like to have a relaxed day, drop stuff at the venue, go out for an early evening meal with OH and MIL who is staying at our house, OH take me to the hotel later in the night stay with me an hour or so then him to head home. Leaving me at the hotel on my own to chillax and gather my thoughts before the chaos the next day.....probably none of that will happen, but thats what i would like xx

I will be abroad so I am thinking to have lunch with my fiancee then spend the night before with my bridesmaid and my mum, a couple of drinks then a fairly early bed! Bright and breezy for the next day x

We'll be dropping things off at the venue then off to the hotel with my BM and mum. Will have a takeaway and some champagne & do some pampering before the big day. Will probably have any beauty treatments a couple of days before.

I will be dropping stuff off at the venue in the morning, then spending all afternoon at my local beauty salon! They are doing me a pampering, waxing and wedding make up package. So I will spend a lot of the day before with them as well as the actual day! In the evening, it'll be a takeaway with Mum and H2B as we have decided not to spend the night apart. Probably watch Despicable Me as that is 'our' movie.

No firm pan as yet but I heavily suspect it will involve rushing around in a mad panic! But the ideal would be relaxation and pampering....that's so not gonna happen!

Well we've hired the Church hall for our reception, & hired it the day before so we can get it decorated for the big day!!!!! So I will be hanging swags of material & bunting, laying the tables & (hopefully) making it look pretty!!! Maybe a bit of a big task the day before our wedding but I think it'll add to the excitement!! After that I think dinner at the local with OH & helpers, then evening pampering with my BMs, one of which is going to do all our nails ( no point in getting nails done before decorating, I'll only break them!!) I intend to have an early night, but we'll see!!! Definitely no alcohol the night before, I don't want to wake up with a hangover on our wedding day!!!

Tidied up after our Halloween party, then went out with my best friends, leaving H with the kids, and got drunk.

My hair stylist has asked us to pop into the salon the day before so that they can wash our hair and set it to get some volume into it, and I might also go for a manicure and pedicure too unless I do that the day before. OH's brother is coming up from London the day before so when he gets here we'll all drive over to the venue and put the finishing touches to the wedding breakfast table, cake table etc - just things like name places and favours. There should be about 11 or 12 of us at the venue the night before the wedding so we're all going to have a meal together and then probably an earlyish night!

If my two bridesmaids can get the friday off then the plan is to go and have a chill out spa day and then nice meal and chill out at the venue in our cottage and have a girly night in!

Going to my mums for the usual sunday roast, probably eating way too much and then enjoying a relaxing evening in which I intend to do something with my toenails so they look pretty even though I don't have peep-toe shoes - I want them to feel like they're part of my day! Watching something rubbish on the TV probably with my girls and mum and dad and no doubt texting OH like mad all evening lol

I'm hoping to drop all our stuff off at the venue, get my nails done and try and relax. Perhaps a couple of drinks and a take away for tea.

I'm going on 1 last sun bed, getting my nails touched up, then popping home, loading a van with all the reception stuff to set up for the next day, having 2 members of family pop over as they can't make the wedding. Then I have my mum dad sister ,best friend , sister in law , nan and our 2 children staying at our house so will grab a take out and TRY to chill out with no drinking as I need to be up at 6:30 am as I want to be at the reception venue to set up at 7:30 latest.

I may be able to set up for a couple of hours the night before the wedding, just waiting for the go ahead but need to make sure teu have no other bookings first and I won't know until a week before.

We're travelling to our location with all the stuff two days before. We'll be dropping all the decs off at the venue on this day too. The day before will see me and OH enjoy the morning to ourselves before family start to arrive. In the afternoon, we'll be taking all the wedding clothes and personal stuff to our respective hotel rooms and checking in. Then as family arrive we'll settle them in to their accommodation and perhaps have a riverside walk. Then in the evening hope to have as many family members as poss meet up in our fave bar for a mal and a few drinks. Hopefully in their gorgeous outside area. Nothing too much though.

Then it's off to bed with my daughter for me, and a bit of mummy daughter time - she will be 26 bless. If I need it, I might see if I can get my nails done in the afternoon.

Should be a lovely non-frazzled last day as fiancee and fiance. Of course if it's tyical Snowdonia weather we could be battling wind, horizontal rain and/or snow lol.

I am debating about this at the moment - likely that because our vicar lives away from the parish, we'll have a wedding rehearsal the day before, and then probably like a lot of the ladies will go to hotel, settle in, get nails done. We're having a big family dinner the night before, for reasons I don't really understand given we'll see everyone the day after but am going with for the sake of peace and tranquillity! Then early to bed, early to rise...

I'm having nails etc done on the Weds (we get married on a Friday), Thursday's plan is to finish most of the packing for honeymoon, take the cats to the cattery (☹️ ), have some lunch with the OH, drop him off at his best mans, go collect my stuff, then drive to the venue and meet my sister. We'll finish last minute jobs (confetti in cones etc), pop to see my FIL to be and check they have settled ok (they're coming from Scotland).

Then grab some food and bubbles and then have an earlyish night!

    In theory anyway.

    I have 2 options.....

1: Drop stuff off at venue, then drop OH off at the venue as he is staying overnight with his family, have a big 'family meal' with them and my mum then head back to Mums house to relax before catching an early (though probably sleepless) night

2: Drop stuff off at venue, then drop OH off at venue to have a meal with his family whilst i head back to mums to have a takeaway and a few drinks before catching an early (though probably sleepless) night.

Not sure which one will be the final decision, the only thing i can guarantee will be the sleepless bit i think lol!

I'll be decorating our hall, having the rehearsal at the church in the afternoon. We'll then probably get fish and chips for dinner depending on who out of the helpers/bridal party is around. At some point I need to go get my nails done too, as don't want to before the decorating! That night I'll be in bed at my mum's house on my own. Will be totally weird!

Decorating the venue, hopefully with loads of guests because they are staying. Transporting my dress and bridesmaid dresses. In the evening I am having my nails done and having a big takeaway and drinks with guests staying over Smiley smile

Hoping for nice relaxed day, a bit of pampering, ordering parents and CBM around to deliver and pick up stuff and then a nice takeaway with my dad and step mum who are staying with us and hopefully my mum too. Maybe a nice movie (nothing teary).

Reality will probably be me running around like a headless chicken, checking, checking and checking again that everything is packed for the wedding night and for nearly husband to take. Buying munchies for the next day, delivering the decorations and favours to the venue, sorting all the bridal party stuff out ready and then both sides of my family will probably want to meet up / pop round (we're in Portsmouth and family coming from Newcastle and Hereford). But as I will probably get hardly any sleep the pampering can probably be done during the night when I will be just too fricken excited to sleep!

I'm going to get my nails done and then drop everything off at the venue, use their spa & then have afternoon tea with the bridesmaids.

I'm really looking forward to it as we don't often get the chance to pamper ourselves.
