What are you having for your first dance?

We had a right ole fashioned one..... twas 'As Time Goes By...' from Casablanca.....

We haven't chosen for definate yet but am considering starting with a joking one and then going into a more serious one. We are having a beach theme wedding so the joking song will be "we're all going on a summer holiday" or the other beach song that i can never remember and then we are thinking of having Journey - Don't stop believing as we are being haunted by the song and laugh everytime it comes on or Always and forever from the romeo and juliet film can't remember who sung it.

I've been MIA for ages, but just starting to get back into planning :-)

We're haveing 'Don't stop believing' as OH and I have loved it for years, and then OH wants 'Come Dance Wiv me' by dizzee rascal, which should work to get people up on the dancefloor!

We haven't decided.

We'd like to use "our" song, but also have some fun... as ours is a christmas wedding I want something related to that too. So maybe it will end up being a mix of a couple of songs.

We can't decide...we've agreed on all of our ceremony music but not the first dance!

I think though it will be one of these 2:

• Have I Told You Lately - Van Morrison's version
• If I Ain't Got You - Alicia Keys

Argh - we keep changing our minds about this!

CURRENTLY we're having "As" by Stevie Wonder, breaking into "Loaded" by Primal Scream...

Ask me tomorrow - will probably have changed our minds again! :-)

We're having 'Feels like home' by Chantal Kreviazuk. The lyrics just say it all for us really.

Then a bit later on we're going to have something a bit more lively, perhaps I'm a Believer by the Monkees or Pencil Full of Lead by Paolo Nutini (two completely opposite song choices, but they're both songs we find ourselves singing and dancing along to when they come on the radio!)

After a lot of debating we had Always by Atlantic Starr.

I think we are having Can't help falling in love by Elvis - i LOVE it. Did have a brief period of thinking about having Heart and Soul (from the film BIG!) but its hard to find a modern-ish version and i'm still not sure. Will be one of those though.

We are having Lets stay together by Al Green.

I really want "Everything" by Michael Buble but my OH doesn't!

So far music is the onlt thing we just can't agree on, ggggrrrrrr!!

Novicebride, what an AWESOME first dance song!! I love that film too, I was listening to the soundtrack on my ipod this morning on the way to work. I would have had that song 100 times over, but it's not OH's thing!

On an unrelated note, I secretly would love my hair the way sarah has hers when she's dancing to this song, with all the ribbon and everything, for the wedding, I would just never have the balls to do that! x

We don't really have a song that is "ours" but we are thinking of Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. The band we have hired can do it if we want but I would like to hear them do it before I decide!

There are loads I would love but the other half doesn't agree as we do have diverse taste in music!

Agghh!! Ive been frantically playing through playlists on the internet and all the songs I love are either a bit too cheesy or have other meanings for me. For example I LOVE Run (leona Lewis version) but we had it at my Nans funeral, Im not sure if thats really wrong or quite sweet and sentimental. I think it would make my Grandad happy.

We're thinking of having I'm Yours by Jason Mraz. I love the lyrics, it's happy and a really nice pace for dancing together. We *may* have had a little practice in our living when I found it ?

same! everytime i listen to it, i am convinced it is the perfect song. but he doesn't think so. we're considering.

might have Just the Two of Us by George Benson.

kinda want High by Lighthouse Family but it was a special song for my sister and i when we were younger so in a way i want to keep it for me n her.

We are having rule the world by take that, it's our song as it was released around the time we got together and I was always singing it. H2B says when he hears it it reminds him of me. I'm also a massive take that fan!!!

Were having heaven dj sammy-the slow version sung by my auntie who is an amazing singer and normally gets payed ALOT for it but for me its free! yay! cant wait!

My best friend had this at her wedding last summer. Her and her husband had a slow dance then we all got and joined in for this one, it was so good i can't even remember what their first "first" dance song was, lol. x

I think we're having God Only Knows by The Beach boys, we are not 100 % sure yet, we don't really have a song as such and we don't want anything too slushy (well I do but OH doesn't) it's not really us. x

Samsam: we are same as you we love that song, Jason Mraz - I'm Yours. We both love Paulo Nutini and love love love 'Last Request' but the lyrics aren't really appropriate.

'Our' song is 'Heaven' by DJ Sammy. We listened to the Bryan Adams version but I don't liek it as much.....awww it's a difficult one

Were having Love me tender but the Norah Jones version its so beautiful (from the princess diaries 2) followed up probably by the beatles with a little help from my friends! Cant wait!! we toyed with The way you look tonight by Frank Sinatra as well if that helps!!
