What are you letting your OH see?

Obviously I wont be letting my OH see my dress, and my mum is keeping it at her house when it come in, which is 3 hours away. I'm also going back home for fittings, so no worries there. But what about other things like shoes, flowers, bridesmaids dresses etc? I want to get shoes quite soon, and will...

Obviously I wont be letting my OH see my dress, and my mum is keeping it at her house when it come in, which is 3 hours away. I'm also going back home for fittings, so no worries there.

But what about other things like shoes, flowers, bridesmaids dresses etc? I want to get shoes quite soon, and will need to break them in around the house, but I'm worries about my OH seeing them!

I also want to get bridesmaids dresses sorted soon. Is it normal for the guy to be involved in choosing them - or at least gving his opinion? Not really sure what the etiquette is on thee things!

Thanks xx

We are planning our wedding together and OH has had / will have input on everything apart from what I will look like on the day.

I want to make sure he is happy with everything as it is his wedding too Smiley smile

He saw everything except my dress, veil (didn't tell him if I was wearing one or not) and tiara. shoes he saw as I wanted to wear them in a little and use them when we practiced our first dance.

Mine has seen the shoes, mainly because I was so excited about them, he's not seen anything else and won't until the day. He can see the bridesmaids dresses etc, not worried about that. He's also helping me get everything together and I'm literally running everything by him so he know's exactly what our wedding will look like.

I feel a bit over organised about things though, my wedding is in October 2013 and I've done most of it!

My OH will see everything but my dress. (and possibly the cake topper if I get the one I'm thinking of, because it will be a surprise)

My OH doesn't know anything at all about my dress, except that it isn't anything like what I was going for, which doesn't really give him anything to work with haha. He's seen my flowers, but couldn't give two hoots, seen the BM dresses, and knows I'm probably having a birdcage veil, as this was a compromise between the two of us - he wanted me to wear a veil so he could have the classic "reveal" of the bride, but I tried on some traditional veils (shoulder and elbow length, as my dress is tea-length and anything longer would look odd) and none of them suited me or my dress. He doesn't know what it'll look like though - that said, neither do I as I haven't found one exactly that I like yet lol. But mostly he doesn't really mind what happens with the "girly" stuff, he's more interested in helping with the crafty bits like the centrepieces and stationary ?

Neither of us saw the flowers untill the actual day!

He saw the BM dresses, he saw both my shoes and veil (I had a proper veil wth a tea length dress samwiches, looked fine?) he promptly forgot what both of these looked like. Too men weddings all look the same. We went to 3 weddings in the months before ours and MrMini is convinced all of the brides had the same dress. He asked me if I was going to wear "the one they had". Bless him I think he though there was only one type?

He had no idea about my dress but I think assumed it would be generic and was very shocked on the day, especially as he had bought me some red Vivienne Westwood shoes as my present and assumed that I would be able to wear them on the day, as beautiful as they were they really didn't go.

H2B has had input on every part of the day, we've chosen everything together. So the only thing he hasn't seen is my outfit. I haven't seen his though either because I didn't want to be able to picture him, I want it to be a surprise. I know he's wearing a grey suit but I haven't actually seen it if that makes sense.

Although we know roughly what we are having, neither of us will actually see the flowers or the cake until the day.

Mine will be seeing everything apart from what I'm wearing. Even that I would be tempted to show him but do like the idea of it being a surprise on the day. That's the only thing stopping me Smiley smile

    Totally agree with this!

At the moment only my dress/veil are a surprise - not sure about jewellery yet, it might give away the general style if that makes sense.

He's seen the shoes, BM dresses, and everything else we've sorted so far really.

It's our wedding, so even though I've been planning and deciding a lot of things he's still involved and I wouldn't/couldn't keep things secret! (I find it hard enough with the dress)

Oh hasn't seen my dress, shoes, tiara or veil. He helped me choose the bridesmaids dress along with my bridesmaid. He has seen everything else. He won't go looking for things, he wants my dress etc to be a surprise, and even if he didn't, he wouldnt see it anyway because it is at my mums so he doesn't accidentally find it!

Ha ha I'm glad I'm not the only one. I got very excited and arranged everything, but still at least we won't be panicking last minute! Although there's bound to be something!

My OH has seen everything except my dress and hair clip. We don't really do the whole tradition superstition thing but decided we'd like that 'wow' moment on the day.

Equally, I haven't seen his suit. I know more about it than he knows about my dress but even so I don't know everything (he's having a bespoke suit made by King & Allen) and he's looking forward ot seeing my face when I see how fab he looks ?.

Sooooo excited...just over 8 weeks to go - it's killing me not talking to him about it!
