What are you most and least looking forward to about your wedding?

shoegal01, 17 March, 2010 at 10:37 Posted on Planning 0 22

Obviously i am looking forward to actually marrying my OH but other than that i am looking forward to -

Seeing my OH's face when i walk down the aisle.

Wearing the dress and getting my hair and make up done and generally being fussed over and being glam.

The evening reception where we can dance and drink and have a good old knees up.

Waking up the next day as man and wife and opening all our cards and reading everyones messages

THE HONEYMOON BABY!!

things im NOT looking forward to

Walking down the aisle and everyone looking at me - arrrrhhhh the pressure! I HATE being the centre of attention.

Kissing everyone on the receiving line - i dont want them to mess my hair and make up and i am NOT a kissy person.

Worrying if everyone is having a good time.

Posing for photos - i hate having my photo taken!

Walking down the aisle and seeing my OH

Getting to spend the evening before the wedding catching up with my MOH who's been travelling the world for a year

    Our first dance

Seeing friends and family all together in 1 place

    HONEYMOON!

    and waaay more Smiley smile

    Not looking foward to -

OH's family most likely getting excessively drunk at the reception

Most likely going red as everyone's attention is on me

Standing around waiting for formal photos to be done and finished

    Nerves on the day

My list would probably be very similar to yours Shoe!

    Looking forward to:

    • Walking down the stairs at my parents house in my dress for the first time, with my mum and dad and bridesmaids there ?
    • Walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing my OH looking at me at the end
    • Seeing all the wedding party and guests all dressed up
    • The part just after the ceremony where OH and I will go for a short drive in the wedding car with some champers ?
    • Seeing the ceremony & reception room all done up
    • Being announced into the reception room as Mr and Mrs!
    • The speeches
    • Having a good party and knees up with all our loved ones
    • Waking up the next morning to pressies and breakfast with our guests (nicked yours a bit there Shoe!)
    • Honeymoon!!!

    Least looking forward to:

The worry - either that people aren't enjoying themselves or that OH and I get too tipsy and embarass ourselves!

I think that's it! Far outweighed there! I'm quite looking forward to being the centre of attention for a day actually ?

Screw the calms love, I cannot control the IBS sadly

I take these tablets called Spasmonal to stop my tummy spasming when I am really bad , if I get in public I can fall to the floor with the pain from cramps and people ask me occasionally if I am pregnant - nice!

I am not going to eat for 24 hours before the wedding day , then have a massive fry up about 30 mins before ( I am so classy) I go down the aisle (whilst wearing a bib of course!)

All the usual things but I few added extras:

I am really looking forward to the car journey with my step-dad and his speech. I have lived with him since I was 6 months old and he is every inch of my dad to me and I feel this is the day I get to give that back and let him know how important that is, so super looking forward to that.

Least looking forward to the fact that I cant set up all my own decorations! I am a control freak and really would rather do it!

    I am looking forward to:

Finally becoming Mrs B after what feels like forever planning the wedding.

Seeing everything that I have planned come together

    Wearing my dress

Getting my hair and make-up done and feeling pampered.

Seeing OH's reaction when he sees me in my dress

Having all my family and friends together

The reception when I can relax and have a good drink/dance

    Not looking forward to:

Most probably feeling sick with nerves!

The nerves..... the nerves.... the nerves!!!

    Crying and ruining my make-up.

OOH I'm soooo excited now it's just over two weeks to go. Really looking forward to:

Seeing friends and family from Ireland and America

Walking up the aisle and seeing my gorgeous o/h waiting for me

The food! (Our hotel does amazing food, hope I don't lose my appetite on the day!)

Getting to wear my gorgeous dress at last

Going on honeymoon and checking in at our fab destinations as Mr and Mrs W!

    Not looking forward to:

The first dance.... well the second song anyway! We decided to have our first song "Love is in the Air" because it's more upbeat and then "Now that we've found love" which is really fast and upbeat. I'm terrified I'm going to be standing in the middle of the floor looking really awkward! It's fine to dance like a madthing nearer the end of the night, but not when everyone is still sober - and looking at us....?
