What are your bridesmaid presents?

Rachel0203, 15 January, 2013 at 21:47 Posted on Planning 0 12

Hi,

I dont know what to get my bridesmaids. I have 3 older ones who i am really close to. So not sure if to get jewellery or just make a little bag of bits for them. Like nice smellies, and a lip gloss or something, Does this sound ok or not?

I also have 2 younger ones from OH side of the family, I am not sure about these either but should be able to think of something unless anyone has some ideas!

xx

I've bought mine a necklace each and personalised eyemasks. I've considered other bits but don't want to buy stuff for sake of it only if inspiration strikes!

    Hi,

I had this exact issue as I have 3 adult bridesmaids and didn't know what to get - all I knew is that I didn't want to get jewellery as I couldn't afford anything really nice. I have now ordered customised clutch bags from a lady on Etsty - they will look something like this:

Mine are going to be 3 different greens so tie with with yellow dresses and greenery in the flowers so they can use the bag on the day. They also come with an embroidered tag inside with a personal message for an extra $1.

There are loads of colours and designs to chose from too Smiley smile

All in all about £105 for 3 personalised bags to be shipped from the US. The website is here if you are interested:-

I think both of your ideas sound nice.

I'm going to tailor my presents to each BM I think.

Never been a fan of buying them all the same - as some might like it, some may not, they all like different things generally.

I seen this which I thought one of them might like as its similar to the style of their home.

My only worry is if its childish as she is a grown adult!

I'm going to try and not get bogged down by the 'present they can keep' as I think thats when it can get tricky.

I have two bridesmaid who are completely different - I got them a piece of jewllerey each, mini champagne bottle, a nice picture frame (will get a picture from the wedding or hen wend for that), yankee candle and maybe a little compact mirror engraved. The Best Men (having 2) are a different story no idea on them what so ever and OH doesnt seem to help either!!!

I only had older BMs, who each had a personalised bag containing a necklace, earrings, mini bottle of bubbles and a compact mirror.

How about personalised or nicely dressed teddies for your younger ones?

I gave mine freshwater pearl jewellery, a personalised mirror compact (really cheap from 24 Studio) and a IOU voucher for afternoon tea at a nice New Forest hotel.

If you are interested in jewellery, I have lots of ideas on my website

Mine got their dresses, shoes, pashminas and side tiara bought for them so I didn't go to town on the pressies.

They got a personalised gift bag with bottle of champers, their wedding jewellery, a soppy card and some sweets. Out of it all it was the soppy card they loved the most.

How about teddies for the little ones or some kind of activity pack to keep them entertained later. When i was little and went to weddings I liked to collect confetti, place cards etc so a scrapbook maybe?
